You're Guaranteed One of Your Selected Roles this Game because You Recently Filled or Played Support

Aren't we guaranteed one of our two roles anyway? This doesn't make much sense. Why not make it so that we are guaranteed our primary role choice?

If the queue time is too long it will auto fill you, it's to prevent someone sitting in queue for 30 minutes

No, you are not always guaranteed one of the roles you pick. It sometimes gives you a random one for timer purposes.

It is a romanticized way of saying you won't be auto-filled.

Thank you for your response. Pardon my ignorance. but when you say "auto-filled," are you referring to the idea of being given your second role for the majority of your games? Sorry for being thick lol!

No you're fine sir.

No I'm talking about being given any role (likely support).

Autofill is when you get a role you didn't pick as one of your two roles. This mostly only happens to diamond+ players (since there are few people at their MMR to match with), but it can happen to average players who don't' queue up for support or fill if they are playing like at a really weird time of night or something.

Basically if it would take 10+ mins to find a match queued as mid/jungle or something it will just autofill you as support so you get a quicker game. Again this is mostly a problem for very high MMR players.

Ohh! Thank you so much for your posts, everyone. I had no idea that was a feature. I have never had that happen. Cheers!

nope, like yesterday i queued mid/jungle and got support 3 times, twice in a row

since i had a terrible support game earlier before that when our mid refused to go mid and went a second adc (i could actually go mid myself as sona but i didn't offer it because i was annoyed so we had no jungle and trio bot, our original adc refused to buy any items whatsoever too and finished with a doran blade and an unused potion) i refused to play support in any of those, once i was spared by dodging of somebody and twice dodged myself one time asap and another time to vent a bit i dodged after waiting till the last several seconds to dodge, those were normal drafts so who cares of the dodge penalty
