It was hilarious, and i'm not being sarcastic or anything I really loved the idea. xD it was fun, unique, and really really stupid. It didnt really impact the game all that much other than making people -maybe- have to look twice to differentiate between champions (but honestly you should be able to differentiate between them from the rest of the models). I can tell you for sure, no one was expecting it and I applaud Riot for the brilliant idea.

The actual content may not really have been all that detailed, but the mind games played with the player base is what makes it funny. Just something completely ridiculous that went against everything everybody thought would happen for april fools day. It was a masterstroke of creative genius, and they didn't even take it too far overboard. There were no draven sound effects playing everywhere, you weren't locked into just playing draven, your portrait on the minimap wasn't changed to draven, towers didn't get draven heads or a whole bunch of other silly shit like that. they made the game still bearable while making you facepalm yourself while chuckling a bit inside, and I quite enjoyed it.
