Hexdrinker build Path Idea

So I had a thought a while back with a couple friends about Hexdrinker and Maw of Malmortius, mainly the Lifeline passive (the shield). As a player who enjoys mainly Akali and the idea of Hybrid Champions (Twisted Fate back in the day comes to mind) I was thinking what if there was a Hexdrinker item for those characters. Just my idea:

item 3155 + item 1052 +item 1052 = Runekeepers Edgeless (I just threw something together for the name)

+25 Damage +50 Ability Power +25 Magic Resist

UNIQUE Passive - Lifeline: Upon taking magic damage that would reduce Health below 30%, grants a shield that absorbs 350 magic damage for 5 seconds (90 second cooldown). UNIQUE Passive - Runekeepers Edge: Upon reaching below 30% health, gain +15 Attack Damage and +20 Ability Power until out of combat.

Kind of thinking the idea would be a slight boost in damage at the same time as receiving the Lifeline shield (although I haven't put too much thought into this yet about overall results). But in a general idea, I think there needs to be more chances for Hybrid characters: -Twisted Fate -Akali -Katarina -Jax -Evelynn -Kayle -Skarner -Poppy

I would even go so far that if this type of item existed, it could work on even Diana, Shyvanna, and Teemo. The whole thought though is, "what would it be like to have a Hexdrinker item for AP or Hybrid (AD/AP) characters?"

What do you think of this idea or what idea would you consider instead? Or maybe even what item feels lacking due to build recipe or what it can only build in to (Phage needs another build path I think but to what?).

I have a few questions for this idea. What is the benefit of a below % health ad and ap boost? Is the item mostly meant for team fights or defensively? How long does the shield/steroid last?

There are items that fulfill similar roles. However, Riots stance on hybrid items seems to be that they can be very dangerous and therefore limited. Also the some of the champions you mentioned are quite durable either in their natural abilities or they favor life/spell leach.

Similar items item 3124 item 3146 item 3115 item 3091

Guinsoo's Rage blade has a similar effect, low life = increased spell/life steal but it is hardly used.

Are the champions you have this item in mind for particularly vulnerable to magic damage?

What if we took your same recipe, with the same stats but the ability of the item was less passive? What if me made it like a ability power specific exhaust active?

Something like: Unique Active - Spellthirst (targeted) - Reduces the magic damage an enemy deals by 20% and grants you an additional 30 magic resist for 3 seconds.

I like the base idea -> a Hexdrinker for hybrids. But I personally wouldn't buy this in-game. It has nothing 'unique' in it.
If I want a Spellshield I'll get Maw or Banshee's, if I want to get stronger the weaker I am, I get Guisnoo's or again Maw, if I want a good hybrid-damage item I get Trinity or Guisnoos's or Hextech-Gunblade.
What is it this item gives me, that's better than other items ? What makes it unique ?
I'd suggest the shield scaling with AP, or (sorry) a whole different second passive, because I don't like yours ... sorry.
But it's basically a weaker Guisnoo's.
But I do like the concept !
