Hey Riot, How about you reverse these lore changes?

It seems pretty clear that most players don't want them.

Also, decoupling the lore from the game just doesn't make much sense at this point.

Champions need a reason to fight on Summoner's Rift, or they aren't champions of anything....just people fighting...On a battlefield with a name that doesn't make sense because there aren't summoners in Runeterra anymore... wtf is going on?!

In the past many players have complained about the lack of lore that Riot has delivered to it's game, but I don't think the community ever really had an issue issue with the quality of the new content released. (excluding retcons and reworks).

Now, it sounds like you're going to be changing the identity of the majority of champions in the League of Legends. Heck, It sounds like "the League of Legends" isn't even going to exist in the lore reboot you are considering.

The community didn't want a fresh take on old champions, it wanted our champions, and the world they lived in, to be further developed.

You don't develop Runeterra by removing it's most important institutions and the things that make it unique. If you want to create some other random world, name it something else, and make new characters for it.

If you don't like the way Runeterra turned out, rename your new world something else, and change the name of this game from "League of Legends" to something else.

Or Riot, just re-consider your decisions about lore and implement them in a way that makes sense and doesn't destroy the "League of Legends".

???...Why is this "we hate what's happening to the lore" thread down-voted while the others aren't? I don't see anything wrong with it.

LoL's history should not be erased! We, the players need to campaign against that, if we want to keep the Institute of War in this game!

Honestly, its the same argument as for Cass and Soraka reworks. Few people play them just like few people actually care about the old lore. If something is not as popular and good as it can be, changes are definetely needed. Now, its impossible to get everyone to like the changes, there will always be someone upset with them, but without changes there can be no improvement and without improvement there can be no truly succesfull franchise or game.

Because I don't. Change is often necessary, yes; but a broken leg is "change", and you don't generally want one of those. A bad change is can easily be much worse than no change, and I'm thinking that's the case here.

I do like the fact that we have seen almost nothing from the new lore and everyone hates it already. Which leads me to think that you will never be pleased unless Riot directly adresses your personal tastes or better yet, lets you write the lore yourself. Im thinking that is the case

Exactly. It has been years and we have seen almost nothing new from the lore team (except retcons).

Forgive us long term League of Legends players for remembering a better time when lore was delivered on a biweekly basis at a seemingly higher quality than it is now.

All Riots newly announced lore policy has gotten us so far is re-written Xerath lore which is simpler and more mundane than ever.

Keep in mind, it's been years since we've had any meaningful lore updates. And this is what we get?! Pitiful.

Aye judgements and journal where pretty cool.

But its long gone. We are not getting it back and there was plenty of time for us to deal with it. Once you do, it will be easier to enjoy the new lore because you will get rid of bias.

Im not saying new lore is good, because we got almost nothing for now. Im saying that your prejudice makes it impossible for you to enjoy it even if it will turn out to be good.

And yes, we got very little. Lore is not the main focus in League. Another thing you should have realized by now.

If a premise is bad, then you don't need details to say 'this is bad'. Sure, it could get better, but if your starting point is 'horrible, please undo ASAP' then you need to do a lot of work to get things to an acceptable level.

When am I allowed to make a judgement call then, hm? The Lore's here. Several Champs have had their bios reduced to a single tiny paragraph, and the Institute of War, Summoners, Fields of Justice and even the League of Legends itself no longer exist, and never did. Is it still too soon to start judging? Am I still jumping the gun? League was my personal taste. That's why I started playing it. I loved that they really justified the gameplay within the story, the huge and interesting Cast of Snowflakes, the actually quite good Lore and the fact that Riot themselves seemed pretty awesome. Now the first of those is gone, the second and third have been reduced, and the fourth....I don't trust Riot anymore. They've been shit at communicating with us and now apparently, after two years of basically jack from the Lore department, their big announcement is "Hey, you know that story we've been building for like five years now that you guys like a lot? Yeah, that's too hard. So we're just erasing a bunch of it, 'cause that's easy."

So....I dunno, maybe you have a good rebuttal, but I'm feeling pretty secure in my assessment at the moment.

*Thank you for doing so openly, at least, it does make things easier.

Well, the lore's not here yet to be exact. When Azir will be released you will see more, thats what they promised. And they said that the in client lore is far from everything. Thing is, you are allowed to make a judgement call at any time, but you might want to wait before the event's over so no one will go assuming any things about you
