Season 6 request: Newly released champions should be disabled from Rank games for 1-2 weeks

Why hasn't any Rioter implemented this.......? I do not want to see people going Rank games & picking Jhin as he's their "main", when in reality, he was released like 7 minutes ago.

Yes, it is a big deal.

  • Many players buy the champion and their first game with them is in Ranked.
  • Many players don't memorize every detail of the video explaining a new champion. These players are then placed with or against the new champion in Ranked, and expected to know how to counter them and work with them.
  • New champions are rarely well balanced on release.
  • All of this combined means one team or another has to waste a ban on a new champion.
