...as top and bottom lose ground to consistent ganks, dragon gone, jungle calls out the words of death.

As predicted, win after win after win, meaningless next to Riot's trolling.

It only take 1 loss to invalidate 5 wins, doesn't matter how hard you carry, a win earns you 8-10 points, while a loss earns you negative 30 points at minimum.

...and YES the last game prior to demotion, had several people on it that I had played before and were reported as unskilled trolls.

There needs to be an elo reset option once a season in order to keep the system fair. While most of the people in bronze belong there, there are those like me trapped by Riot's inability to stop eloboosters and other trolls.

the system is fine. as long as you have a negative w/l (overall, not in the last 20) you will not gain more LP when winning than than you lose when you are losing. I was placed in bronze 5 as well at the beginning of the season. I am not a good player, but i am slowly climbing

here is the rank guidance rule #1:

You belong where you are at the moment. As soon as you dont belong there, you will climb.

and another good rule to follow: only your own mistakes matter.

You're not a mathematician, so frankly you have neither the expertise nor the credibility to speak on behalf of the algorithm used to determine a players hidden mmr rating.

I have several undergraduate degrees in both theoretical physics and mathematics.

besides that though, your w/l is 399/417 lemme see if i can conjure basic math for ya: 399+417=816 399/816=.489 .489*100=48.89

your current win percentage is 48.9% I think thats why you are losing more lp when you lose than you win when you win. I could be wrong. but thats how i perceived it to be when looking at my own lp wins/losses.

some simple advice here man and it has zip to do with math: STOP BLAMING EXTERNAL INFLUENCES ON HOW BAD YOU ARE. i yell that so you get that into your mind. its not matchmaker or your team or whatever else you want it to be.

Its YOU. you need to work on YOUR gameplay. if you dont you'll stay where you are. single out your own mistakes and snuff them out one by one.

well here's a challenge for you. lets keep on playing ranked for the rest of the season. you do it your way, i do it mine. Just to reiterate, i started out this season Bronze 5 0LP. At the end of the season we take a look who stands where. And if i am higher than you, maybe you will change your ways and see it the way i am seeing it, which is this way:

1: i want to become a better player 2: Do not criticize/blame others 3: Only my own mistakes matter

so far its been working out for me.

Look that's nice, but what I'm talking about is the number of games played in ranked and how that affects your mmr rating.

There needs to be an mmr reset option so that I can stop being matched up with trolls and other slow unskilled folks.

well, the only way to raise your mmr yourself is to win. the only way to win is to carry despite trolls. and to do that, you need to become a better player.

you tanked your mmr and now you want a reset. but the fact is, that a reset is only going to help you temporarily, because you are just going to tank it again, unless you change your mindset.

you are both right. aerothal seems a little fuzzy on some of how matchmaking works and you are overly pessimistic about how hard it is to increase your rating. I believe if you are better than your rank it will increase pretty steadily.

here is a math problem for you - there are 4 other players on your team. there are 5 players on the other team. which team is going to get more trolls and unskilled players after 100 games?

yes bad players will cost you some games. but they are going to be on the other team more often. this is statistically inevitable. unless you are one of the bad players. and so if you are not, your mmr will rise.

My friend dropped from silver 4 to bronze 4 in the provisional. Dropped to bronze 5 for a week, and now is silver 2.

You don't need a elo reset, you will be shifted to where you belong.

If you can't climb, then you are probably where you belong.

That's because your friend had not played many games at that point and his score was still largely fluid and easily increased.

Once you have a certain number of games under your belt, this becomes substantially harder to do.

Too Toxic Didn't Read - Riot caters to LCS players and expects SoloQ players to hit win streaks.

(I don't know about any of that, however I did read about a recent LCS champ who got their by playing ONLY LEE SIN AND CHO GATH, now what that means is that he had to troll 40% of his games and/or dodge when there was no opportunity to play LEE SIN OR CHO GATH....but I digress....)

The popularity of eloboosting services proves that the elosystem is flawed, yet continues to be propagated by the elodelusional.

They aren't winning all these games just by carrying, they are using the matchmaker exploit to place into games with their own smurf accounts on both their own team and on the opposing team.

They use accounts whole sole purpose is to simply go AFK during a game, like this one for instance:

Now what possible reason would there be to have an account such as this? Unless there were some way to use it to rig matches....

The afk issue is where Riot completely falls off in community interaction.

Us, the players. We don't want to play with dick afkers or afkers like the one you mention, we don't want to carry them and let those motherfucking trolls win. But we HAVE to, because Riot is going by "Better safe than sorry" and trying not to punish afk players even more (Leavebuster is fucking brutal, but WAIT! That does NO SHIT TO BOTS) instead of trying to help the players trying to actually play.
