What's wrong with Leaverbuster?

Specifically, why did a net 756 people downvote Lyte in that first reply? Is it just because there was such widespread instability at the time that people with ordinarily reliable connections were getting Leaverbustered? Or are people upset because they played a ranked 4v5 (which is very upsetting, but there's only so much Riot can do about)?

I ask because I think "DCing for any reason ruins the game for the other players, it's your responsibility to make sure your connection is reliable before playing with other people" is spot on. If that were posted today, I'd upvote it again.
