I am sincerely sorry for anyone who is legitimately struggling in silver.

#It. Is. Aids.

I'm in placements after ending Plat, and just dipping into Silver ELO has me heated. I'm usually a firm supporter of there is no ELO hell, but I completely understand where you are coming from.

It's like PTSD from when I first started. I've gotten so used to players who will followup and are reliable that I'd forgotten. They are hellishly attracted to red pings, fail flash harder than most peoples' SAT scores, and may or may not have a piece of paper taped to the lower corner of their monitor.

But above all, there is just anger. Short tempered anger. They look for scapegoats, rationalize insults, and just release everything they have. I distinctly remember, a plat 5 game, I missed smite on both Dragon and Baron in succession. It's arguably close to the biggest mess up I've had this past season. The team chat consisted of:

"That's rough" "We should sit on inhib to stall it out" "I think you got clipped by the cc"

I don't care if you have qualms about plat ELO, or think it's toxic, it is nothing compared to Silver. I wanted to take the time to make this post and say, if you are a levelheaded player who is just legitimately struggling to be able to move up from silver, I am sorry. I know it's fucking painful. Take breaks, listen to some nice music, just don't like League affect you, because there are too many people far gone already.

Very true. I was gold 5 at the end of last season, with gold III mmr. Now, I'm in silver V, and it is a clown fiesta every game. Nobody listens, and everyone flames. I'm thinking of muting everyone at the start of the game until I get higher. And the ADC in my game is guaranteed to be 100% worthless. Sucks too, when you main soraka/sona. I hate low silver especially, because it is just a shinier bronze. People can't consider the fact that they make mistakes that are 100% their own fault :). They can't cs, look at the map, disengage, not overstay, take objectives, trade, understand lane momentum, and numerous other things. I'm not a pro, but it is crazy how people in silver/bronze literally never follow up on anything, but will run in to die for free/chase mindlessly until the end of time!

I struggled all last season up to Silver 1 and experienced everything you mentioned. Silver is truly an awful bracket. I think it's actually the worst bracket. I try to look hard at my own mistakes every game and do my best to keep the team positive but.. You're right, sometimes you just need to take a break and get some fresh air before queuing again.

10/10 good post with a very nice message. I hope more people get to read your post, OP.
