Elementalist Lux, Worth or Not Worth?

So i'm buying like 3500 RP Today, and i don't know if i should buy Elementalist Lux, or 6300 Champions. Jinx is on Sale, so I can afford to buy Jinx, Taliyah (Which are the champs I really want), and Still have RP for 2-3 more Champions. I don't mind buying champs with RP because I find it hard to earn ip, I waste easily.

Like, I think The Elementalist Lux skin is nice, but every time i think of 3k RP, My mind always goes off thinking about the champs i could buy instead with that much RP.

I play about 5-7 Games a day and Ive never had more than 4800 IP

Buying champions is a waste.

Jinx is alright. Taliyah is worthless trash.

Elementalist is nice if you play Lux a shitton/main her. Otherwise it's just a really expensive pretty skin.

Because Riot, once again, were dumbasses.

Upon release, she was a lot more difficult to learn and play, but in return, far more rewarding. She was a highly specialist mage that took massive amounts of skill and practice and knowledge to play properly.

People who barely played her, or didn't play her at all, whined that she was hard because they were idiots who didn't want to learn how to play her properly. People who did play her since release or otherwise played her a shitton, said she was perfectly fine once you learned her, which was the truth.

But Riot pandered to the former, made her a generalist champion, let her do too many things, and then gutted every single part of her kit, ESPECIALLY her iconic E damage into complete fucking trash as a result, because they had to because they decided to make her a generalist champion for no good reason.

They changed her unique W casting method to vector casting, which FORCEFULLY ADDED a MASSIVELY LONG inherent human delay on it as well as removed the ability to knock up simply vertically instead of in a direction, as well as made it far easier to learn (VCing is braindead easy). They removed the lockout on the W (which prevented other spells from being used) which had prevented W-E which was far harder to react to and completely braindead easy. This added a Burst Mage playstyle to Taliyah's kit instead of simply being a zoning pressure mage like she used to be. Now, instead of actually having to become good at Taliyah to land her E-W, people could just do W-E which was absurdly easy. So they had to gut her E damage into utter trash. Around the same time, Riot added bonus damage on her Q for no reason (to minions). This added a waveclear/splitpushing/even faster roaming playstyle to Taliyah's kit, making her, again, more generalist. This made it ridiculously easy to just Q through an entire wave and permapush to turret and then roam bot for ganks and kills.

Coincidentally, with all these new unnecessary additions, she did well in LCS. Hence, her entire kit being nerfed into utter trash as a result of Riot's own stupidity.

Thx for the advice. im going to buy Elem. Lux, and maybe Jinx with RP. I'm just going to save up for taliyah instead with IP :)

No problem. I started mass-playing Taliyah the moment she came out. She was ridiculously, incredibly fun. And then she got killed in 6.14. And then kicked a few more times in the head in the subsequent patches. RIP.

I can see why riot would want to make her an easier champion, but I don't think it's really fair because it closes the gap between a (for example) lvl 2 taliyah and a lvl 5 taliyah

Most champs rn are too easy to play. What riot should have done is make champs a little more harder, so that everyone can practice @ their fav champs & get good at them, instead of master every champion they play in a day. I bought singed the other day and carried my team on my first game. It was just ridiculously easy.

BTW, Taliyah is still fairly new. I don't think riot are going to keep her like this. is she expecting some buffs soon?

Nope.

Also Yorick's been basically forgotten as well and he's newish too.

Lux skin or another skin.

You can get a limited edition border if you purchase the lux skin now, while you can buy champions with IP at anytime.

That is if you really care about the lux skin and don't want other skins you'll play more most likely.

"My mind always goes off thinking about the champs i could buy instead with that much RP." About 3 champions. That's all. Four champions if you go for the premium pack with the exclusives but that's a secondary decision.

It's a value judgement. There's no correct answer; it's about what you want. Do you like Lux and the 10 skins of Elementalist Lux to the extent you want to buy it? That's the only real question. You have until the 13th to decide if you want it, so there's no rush. If you want to buy the skin and buy champions beyond that, that's fine too. They only cost a few bucks and it's far, far more expedient than grinding for them. League is F2P after all.

But again, that's a value judgement. Just take some time and think about what you want.

"I just wanna play her cuz her kit looks fun and new" He was referring to the series of nerfs, buffs, and reversion of buffs, and buffs due to nerfs that Taliyah went through. Taliyah is fine right now, she even got buffed on 6.20. There's no reason why you can't play her.
