Riot already has heard countless outcries and reasons that dynamic queue sucks. I'm not saying that I don't agree with you, believe me I agree with you whole heartedly. Riot kind of has their hands tied right now. Sure, they implemented a flawed system, but you can't expect them to abandon ship on something they worked so hard on in the middle of the season. In all likelyhood we will all have to wait until the end of the season to see any meaningful changes that will address this issue. For the meantime let's all try to be more patient with Riot. Everyone makes mistakes guys.

For the meantime let's all try to be more patient with Riot.

Waiting for voice coms, waiting for tribunal, waiting for sandbox mode. If we don't keep posting on reddit, youtube, boards, etc we know what will happen. The patience that comes with trust has been lost.

Sure the voice of the masses needs to be heard, that's all great and all but a vast majority of these threads tend to be extremely critical, and focus mostly on the problems. If we worked together and offered some possible solutions instead of just whining all the time I believe Riot would be a lot more forthcoming on divulging some of their future plans.

The time for critisism is over. It's time to offer constructive feedback and solutions.

If Riot followed the same logic patterns as the OP is assuming they do, that would be one thing. Riot however tends to go with the logic of "oh, they stopped shouting about it. Guess it's fine now".

So while in the normal world, this is good logic, it is doesn't work on Riot.

Do you really think, Riot is going do anything, if people will quietly wait until the end of the season? I don't think, it can get more naive than that.

The thing is, there isn't even a "season". It's a clown fiesta.

What about the Bilgewater event? The Freljord one? What is your perception of meaningful lore? For the most part I think Riot has been doing a fine job in terms of lore. I'm not saying we shouldn't complain at all, I'm saying that the "daily reminder" threads are unneeded at this point. There has already been a large enough outcry. Riot is already aware of the issues. It's just not a good time for them to make radical changes right now since we're still in the middle of the season.

They exist in a void.

Frankly, Taliyah's story is worth more than all of those events together.

They may be aware of them, but their egos forbids them from making sensible choices, instead they continue to follow the road of sunk cost fallacy.

If you fuck up so hard - like with Dynamic Queue - you should act immediatelly, not ty to wait it out and brush it under the rug, hoping people forget about it.

But you have to admit, the way that Gangplank died and was disabled temporarily was actually a pretty neat and new idea. Even the way they had a themed game mode surrounding the whole event and allowing us to earn rewards by completing specific objectives was also cool. I personally liked those events, thought they were really cool and would love to see Riot do more stuff like that.

Yeah, dynamic queue is a total nightmare, and the symbols that they're putting forward reflecting what kind of queueing you do on a regular basis is kind of stupid. All ideas like those stupid symbols do is encourage a larger rift between the community. Not sure if they're intentionally causing all of this drama or if they are just not aware they are the cause of it.

Either way Riot has been moving in the wrong direction and their bull-headedness is definately deplorable. However demands that they make huge changes right now will never be met or even considered. If a corporation decides to reneg on a decision they thought would be good just because everyone is whining about it, it would just encourage more whining. This viscious circle will just end up tying their hands and will cause them to fear attempting to implement more cool features in future!

What was new was the fact they disabled a champion just because of that. The very writing of the act in which the ship was blown up, heavily suggested GP survived. No plot twist here really.

But again the event around it was meaningless. It's not like people decided the outcome of particular acts or anything. It was like every single "Now you can get one-time-event-exclusive icons" event since I started playing in 2012, frankly.

Oh, I would gladly have them fear implementing new features - Not just the "cool" ones. All of them - considering how it's been for the past year or two. I mean, in this case fear would make them think twice, about pulling off some flat-out idiotic crap, like Pay-To-Get Hextech-exclusive skins or...

Turning ranked into a clown fiesta. As in you didn't need a PhD in rocket science, to call Dynamic Queue a failure on the day of its first announcement 8-9 months ago.

Man I'm glad I'm not a developer in this day and age. The anonymity of the internet has created some serious issues. I mean you we can sit here and point out every single mistake they have made and roast them but at the end of the day you're playing a game they made. Obviously you enjoy the game otherwise you wouldn't be complaining about it being sub-par so vehemently.

So in the end we can do one of two things:

  1. Sit here on the boards, bitch, moan and complain about a free to play game that isn't accomplishing all of our lofty dreams. This will accomplish nothing except to make us all look like whiney petulant kids.

OR

  1. We can offer constructive ideas and pool our mighty intellect together to help improve the game we all play and love.

So far I've only seen the former from you, which I must say is making my interest in this conversation flag noticably.

A wild Riot Games appears! Community used Constructive Ideas. It's completely ineffective. Community used Boards Spamming. It's not very effective.

In other words: Constructive ideas gets completely ignored by Riot when it comes to Dynamic Queue_(and a few other things)_, while whinning at least gives us a chance to get ANY kind of an answer. Which is true that happens.

Fact: Whiney posts require a lot less effort to create than a fully fleshed idea.

Fiction: All ideas posted by the community get ignored by Riot completely.

The only reason you perceive that constructive posts garner no changes is due to the fact they get buried in circle jerk posts.

Fact #1: Constructive ideas rarely get ANY Red response, let alone a Red response on the topic.

Just look at Red Tracker from the past week. They are all from Bug Report (No constructive ideas here, just information), Story and Art (Those may sometimes get constructive ideas and answers, but usually just information, like in Bug Report), Gameplay (Which again consists of information and Meddler/an-odd-Rioter defending their stance on a change, without any real place for a discussion) or Memes & Games (Yeah.).

Example: Just an hour or so ago, I wrote a comment in a Pool Party MF's splash art thread, saying splash arts could've been made as fast as 8 hours in the past. A few minutes later a Rioter busts in like "Heard you were talking shit" - Which is true that happens, but he took the bait regardless. Oh, well. - completely ignoring any feedback on the splash art itself.

Fact #2: I never said something like, "literally all ideas everywhere are ignored". That's just you putting words into my mouth.

How many well thought out and constructive posts did Malicious Metal and Worst Morde NA make when morde was getting reworked? No changes came of them, Riot plugged their metaphoric ears and pushed the rework through anyway. Riot has shown time after time they dont listen.

Clearly you are trying to have a conversation so if you drop the sarcasm we can talk. I countered your point by pointing out your logical fallacy and provided an example to prove my point. By doing so I was met with nothing but ridicule for my efforts so tell me again how you want to have constructive conversations on these boards....

Listen, I'm not on the varsity debate team or anything, the fact you pointed out my mistaken points made me a bit salty. Happens to all of us. I think the question now is: Why does constructive feedback get largely ignored while simple complaint gets rewarded? Is it purely a numbers thing? Is Riot so egotistical that they can't take any advice offered by non-developers?

I guess my entire thread is just completely ironic and moronic. I'm complaining about complainers at this point. I've already made comments about how solo queue and 5s were not a broken system so why did Riot take it upon themselves to create an entirely new system to try to mash these two completely opposite groups of players together?

No, Riot has just proved that is the only type of feedback they are willing to directly address. Blame Riot, not the people screaming.

I mean, it is the same with how parents handle their children. If you only give them attention when they throw stuff, yell, throw a hissy fit, and act out, then the child learns that is how you get the parents attention.

I've been here since 2010 on the boards, and I've seen 10x more cases of riot responding to negative, rude, completely calm but criticizing posts than I have seen of just trying to give advice. Very rarely have I seen long or short posts commented on by Riot. Rather often I would see Riot come in defensively to the opposite. So guess what the Community learned to do more of?

Blame Riot on that one, not the community.

And the backlash wasn't tiny, and pissed off a lot of people to the point Riot had to address it and apologize for poorly handling the event.

It might have seemed "pretty neat" beforehand, but it was a really really bad idea.

What was meaningful about those events? They were made for nearly no other reasons than to reintroduce new champions or reworks. Once they were done, they were just forgotten and we haven't heard anything about them since.

What happened to the "watchers" in Lissandra's lore? Did the big fight between the 3 "sisters" end? It's been years, and no word about any of it. I mean, sure they were neat and all, but they were far from substance. They were add ons to draw hype for reworks and new champs, and to say they were anything else is being a bit naive.

I mean, the Frejlord event just randomly tossed champs into the frejlord that made no sense to go there to get reworks and changes on like, Trundle, some chances to Sejuani, to release Lissandra, and so on.

Bilgewater was a big promo to release new skins, a new map skin we still haven't seen a whiff of since, a fun game mode...same as the map, and most importantly the rework to Gangplank. Sure game wise, we got some cool stuff. Lore wise, we got filler that has no relevance to anything after the event ended.

I mean, I just didn't even bother finishing reading all the stuff for Aurelion Sol's "lore" event, with the lore reworks to the mount targon people, because it was just...no.

Why does it have to take a rework or new champ to get lore? Why can't we just have lore? That's the issue there.

"Tech and stuff" Yeah, because you need new "tech" to type. I mean, you have a keyboard. You have a website. What more "tech" do they need? Only excuse we've ever gotten is some excuse about not having the tech, which honestly makes no sense as they've never actually said what said tech supposedly is. But they sure keep saying it.

And the best is, the "tech issue" was not only dealt with like a year ago, which Rioters confirmed, but we still have to get it released in any way or form.

Said "tech" was... what was is... Ah, that whenever they changed champion lore on the website, it changed in the client and they want the client to only have links to the website (because "fuck you, you don't have to know the lore", basically).

Like holy shit, that'd be one of the most basic things, you'd ever want your website to do; operate hyperlinks. And it took them like 8 months.

The patience thing would work, if that was how Riot operated. The problem is, being here since 2010, I've seen that Riot operates quite the opposite. If you keep spamming something they finally go "I guess that needs fixing". If you eventually shut up about it and "Be patient" they go "I guess it's fine now" and ignore the problem.

Rationally, being patient is good, but Riot as a company, clearly isn't rational
