Ranked Matcher
I know that the system for matching and placing in ranked is very complex and much of it hasn't and wont be released for the public to understand, and as a designer I can understand that but from the player side it is very difficult to understand what it is doing and why. There have been numerous people who have stated that they are bronze/silver vs-ing golds and whatnot. Though this can be explained by the fact that if someone has high MMR they will be against higher players, but high MMR doesn't equate to higher ranking like many players would believe it should. After having many conversations with friends on this system it is nearly unanimous to think that prior to getting to plat the MMR system should be removed. The reason that this is believed is mostly due to the fact that players should largely be placed against people of their ranking (not MMR) and if they beat them they get a bit of lp for the win, given the lose they lose the SAME amount. This would mean that if someone is better than the majority of the players at their rank they have the higher win rate and therefore move up. If they are at a lower skill level they move down. This is largely what happens now, except it is based on MMR instead of rank, and the two aren't necessarily the same or even close. Eventually (after the stated 150-300 ish games to reach your actual MMR, as stated by riot) Rank and MMR start to match up, but those 150-300 games become very daunting and demoralizing, which in turn can create some of the negativity that you see.
I am sorry for the wall of text, just getting some ideas out on paper, which is why i jump around a little. Plz RIOT read this and argue your point so i can debate back with you and have a focal point.
