Potential new Kog'maw Build Path

I've been doing a bit of experimenting with one of my mains KogMaw and I may have found a potentially viable build path that may make laning much better. Rageblade is a fantastic item on Kog'maw but it feels terrible to rush during the laning phase. Most of the components don't really do that much during the laning phase. The 40 ap from blasting wand gives you a little bit of extra damage on your abilities (20 on Q, 28 on E, 1 per 333 hp on W and 10-30 on R). The Pickaxe gives you 25 AD which honestly doesn't do very much for you it's about 13 damage per E auto and helps with last hitting. Recurve Bow is great because it gives you 15 on-hit and 25% attack speed (the on-hit is more than the pickaxe gives you). Rageblade is pretty great too when it's stacked and therein lies another problem, you have to stack it before you get the amazing benefits.

So here's what this has all been building to. What if you rushed item 3153 instead? You start the usual item 1055 then grab a item 1053 item 1083 if you can on your first back. if not get item 1083 item 1042 , item 1083 item 1001 or item 1083 item 1042 item 1042. Don't finish item 3144 until you have item 1043 and item 1083 because cutlass is ass in comparison. The active from cutlass is nice for peel and damage but you already have what you want from it. Finally, finish item 3153 from there you go item 3085 and finally grab item 3124 3rd or 4th item.

With this build path you spike really hard with a 1350 gold back 3% from Dblade 2% from the Vampirism mastery 3 life on-hit from Cull and 10% from vamp making for a total of 15% life steal + 3 on-hit. Using standard AD runes (my preference) at level 8 you'll break 100 AD which means you gain an extra 18 hp from 1 auto on a minion. You spike even harder once you get Recurve bow with the extra attack speed and on-hit damage. I did devalue AD when I covered Pickaxe BUT Pickaxe doesn't give you lifesteal. When you get Bork your autos really start to hurt and it becomes a lot harder to kill you.

But doesn't Rageblade do more damage? Yes and no, and there's the problem. Rageblades power--while great--is situational and can be played around. Your attack speed without 6 stacks is ass, you don't have nearly as much life steal, you don't get the active to escape and peel and if you get all-inned without the stacks you'll probably lose. Another problem of not having the peel from the active is that you need to push constantly to stack it up making you vulnerable to getting ganked. With Blade, the attack speed is immediate, you have the active for extra damage and peel, you're not screwed once your W is down because you're not losing nearly as much damage and you get the extra life steal (with 100% of your AD back) to make up for it. (Edit : I forgot the part where I was supposed to add that "You can all-in all you want because of the consistency.") It's just so much more safe and consistent than Rageblade in the early game.

But everything I said is meaningless because you'll always go 0/10 with Lucian running rampant. [slayer-jinx-wink] (Just kidding)

TL;DR - Rushing Bortk is more safe and consistent than rushing Rageblade. Get cull vamp or get cull dagger/boot if you have to. Finish Bow before finishing Cutlass. Go for Rageblade 3/4th item because it'll will spike extra hard and it's much more worth it at that point.

(I'm Silver 4 and no one will see this)
