I'm not exactly sure where to put this, so here it is. I love Kayle. I've played her and gotten decent at her. I got Riot Kayle back in the day when it was rare, really rare. And I feel like those of us who got it back then should really get a border or something like that to show we got her back then. Thanks Riot for reading this. Feed back appreciated.
It was never a limited skin. It was always stated to come back often.

I feel you. I got Riot Kayle too and I would be happy with just a little mark in a corner of the splash art saying I got it before it became free. If it at least just came back costing RP it would be fine because it was a legacy skin but giving it free like Dreadknight Garen and Riot Girl Tristana (who even count those as skins anymore?) is not okay for all us who paid for the skin and wanted THAT skin. Yeah yeah I should be happy about a mystery but why don't everyone just get a mystery skin then if everyone is so happy about it. Then make the Riot skins come back in store and I'll be happy. It was legacy but that doesn't mean they just may give it for free. Now it is degraded to nothing like Riot Girl Tristana and Dreadknight Garen. As a legacy skin it had a chance to come back that much I knew. But I didn't know it had a chance to be given out for free to literally everyone.

I don't quite understand these comments. Yeah sure, he's getting a mystery skin (490 rp) whilst the rest of the community gets Kayle + Riot Kyle (At least a value of 975 RP). I'd be a little annoyed if I got screwed over for being loyal to Riot too... A little border or mark on the loading icon would be nice, to show that the player bought it before it was handed out (similar to the PROJECT skin borders).
I don't think Riot will give a border to those who got the skin a while back. The special borders have only been for Limited skins that were brought back because Riot said that those skins were never being brought back, yet they went back on their word. Riot Kayle was released as a Legacy skin, therefore it has always had a chance of coming back.
