We're doing things a bit differently this year, so it won't be just like the Harrowing event you saw last year. Hope this clears things up!
To bad no one is scared of zombies imo. They are slow and can only bite / scratch you. People are scared of ghosts and monsters. Also they could have made some good skins like necromancer Azir and trick or treat Bard. But to bad riot ignores what people want and shove what they want at us.
Almost the majority of the community has said they don't like it. It was as most of us already knew was going to happen, they are going to shove the concept down our throats regardless. The community was in an uproar over two of the skins not being Harrowing or Halloween enough, but they have yet to do anything about it. As it has been said by a lot of people, they dropped the ball this year with the skins. We are still getting lore for the Harrowing but the community is still left with all of these horrible skins no one likes. Zombie NuNu is fine but the other two do nothing to embody the season.
But what if...BOTH were Harrowing? Like what if "Harrowing" is a vague concept that can be applied for several different ideas? THAT'S spooky.

You're missing that its not about the rituals, but the shadow isles "rising" up to take over runeterra which sounds damn better than "dark pacts to raise up zombies".
. >_> soooooo everyone thinks that the whole story thing they did with the shadow isles characters and the story they made AND THE NEW CHAMPION... mean nothing just because it did not start at halloween... but actually was up a week ago for viewing. MIND YOU one of the largest criticisms of the harrowing skins is that they are not "Haloween-y" enough....
I must be terribly confused about what Harrowing's supposed to be about. Is it about dark pacts with dark entities (such as those traditionally used to raise zombies)? Is it about death and the undead (like zombies)? Is it about a larger horror theme (a genre zombies are traditionally associated with)?
What am I missing?
The shadow isles event willstill prolly happen soon. And we may get more then one a year with the change.

Not everybody thinks zombies aren't scary. If I saw dead and decaying corpses walking around I'd get more than a little freaked out.
Not everyone thinks the Harrowing event has got to be the same as that one year where everything was timed well for Halloween. Good as that particular version of the event was not every Rioter is going to have that same kind of inspired style, and it is very likely that as a company if an employee has an idea for something new they will be willing to listen to him (which in the case of the zombie apocalypse theme they probably have).
Not everyone cares whether the same event is at the same time every year. If Riot had "Harrowing" skins ready in March why would they bother sitting on them for 6+ months when they could just have another skin set come out then? Or another example how many "creepy" skins has Riot released before that were not released on or even near Harrowing?
So taking into account the above, please start taking into account that you are not the entire community when you post and learn to adjust your comments appropriately.
