"Certainty of punishment is more important than duration of punishment in deterring offenders from reoffending" What this means- swift, immediate, short and certain punishment is more effective in deterring offenders than long heavy punishments You know what I mean by those heavy punishments - 2 week banns, perma banns, 60 game chat bans are all very heavy punishments, therefore they cant just be handed out at will Resulting in alot of wiggle room for people to troll, afk, feed, be toxic at their leisure...
Because of how painfully long these punishments are, people are likely to make a new account to escape it anyway! So here they are on their unbanned alt trolling the hell out of everyone all over again... Innocent players gotta fight for their accounts, go through long periods without league or sit through several dozen games of silence...
Behold! the possibly better solution! take out the wiggle room! neutralize the threat quickly and swiftly! dont give them that room to do anymore harm So.. yeah! we need Certainty of punishment... Are you scared of being banned? Lol cuz I'm not scared and doubt anyone else is. This is cuz I know the odds of banns coming my way are slim. Seriously, I've been toxic as hell before, no lie! pissed off abuncha people! I'm still here! In fact Rito gave me a free mystery skin for good behavior! what a fking joke. Certainty of punishment...people need to know that when they act out... they're gonna get punishment without fail! But since this encouraged punishment be handed out more leisurely and frequently; the punishment should also be lighter of course. maybe 24 hour bans instead of a week or 2 maybe only 5 game chat restriction instead of 60 Trolls will be neutralized before they know it! If they hop on their alts, they too will be gone swiftly! For innocent players who so happen to be unfortunate, they only have to deal with light punishment, back on the rift before you know it. but wait.. that means trolls will be back on the rift as quick as them innocent players! But thats okay cuz repeated behavior will just ship them off again and if the innocent truly were... they wont banned again :3
