Help me learn

So... Idk what Board section this should go in, but... I could use some help. High, I am Thurlowned (IRL name is Josh :) ) and I'm a Silver 3 (almost 2! :D) player and I'm looking to really improve my game. The 3 things I could really use help on, and any help at all would be amazing, are as follows.

  1. What role to play. I have such a hard time choosing and I'm always jumping around on what to play, and can't always decide. How can I narrow it down to maybe at least 2?
  2. What champions to play. I know there are ups and downs of having a small or a large pool. Ik one issue of a larger pool (or just not being able to choose champs at all) is your skill and knowledge of a champion. As of right now, I have only 3 champions I can play and know exactly what I'm doing: Poppy, Olaf, and Vayne. How can I really get myself to practice and improve on a champion, or at least a fewer number of them, and not sitting deciding on who to play.
  3. What can I do to improve. I do currently watch my own games to see, and I feel i do a good job. But maybe there are some excersizes? Or anything I can do or that you notice I could improve on (Ik CS is a big issue with me).

Thanks to anyone who can help me.

Sent a request. Truth be told, I'm also having a champion pool identity crisis, although to a much lesser extent. I feel a second opinion can help us both. summoner 13

I can really only speak from my experience as a Jarvan... I mean Jungler. No, I mean Jarvan, but anyway, I'll parrot the advice of one Stonewall008 for learning specifically the jungle role.

Learn to play Jarvan.

The timing is good on this, because he's pretty average right now as jungle picks go, and that's good for learning, because then when you transfer the knowledge you gain by learning what makes Jarvan work in the jungle, you will instantly power up when you transfer that to whatever happens to be OP at the moment. Jarvan is one of those champs who will never be trash tier though as long as he retains his identity.

Now, what makes Jarvan so damn good as a teacher in the jungle? Basically, he's Lee Sin without all the fancy button pushing. Jarvan has mechanics that are super easy to learn but you can spend a life time and never master all of his nuances. He can be played effectively as a tank or an assassin and unlike most jungle picks, you can decide that in game, you don't need special runes or masteries to pull off one build or the other. Hell, Ive pulled off many a game where I go devourer and easily outstack the enemy yi or shyvana while continuing to apply pressure to the map AND to the enemy jungle (Plat level here for reference).

Jarvan is also a Champion who is INSANELY good at punishing mistakes from the enemy, so he carries low level games with ease.

So if you want to learn the jungle, and you may not, it might not be your thing and that's cool, but if you want to learn it, pick up Jarvan, spend 2 games mastering his mechanics and then 2000 games never fully mastering the jungle.
