Think Season 5 has been the most toxic season I've ever played in.

And honestly, the removal of the tribunal is probably to blame here, as well as the automated banning system either not working properly or being too soft. I honestly don't know why no one has mentioned it, but the removal of the tribunal means only Riot handles the reports of toxic teammates and not the community. This really puts too much on Riot's plate to handle and therefore, I think bans on toxic people have dramatically shrunk. And some people have talked about getting messages that their reports got someone banned, but I've never received one, and I guarantee you I've reported countless people who deserve to be banned. The toxicity is ridiculous this season, and I really hope Riot either revamps the Tribunal or actually get to work on bans. I used to see toxic people every 3-4 games last season; now I'm seeing at least 1 every game.

Thats why I gave up on crawling out of bronze, stopped dumping my money into riot, took a break from league, and moved over to Smite. Toxicity levels on a scale of 1-10 League toxicity level: 9.5 Smite toxicity level: 3...maybe 4 (usual toxicity present in every moba but nowhere near the "go kill yourself" toxicity levels seen in majority of league matches)

(Warning! Wall of Text!) It is decently toxic. It didn't help about what I'm going through (Which i'll keep to myself) but i got pretty toxic sometimes. Course i've changed my ways and have become better at dealing with my attitude/mindset/how i act and such but yes they tribunal needs to ban MORE people so more people can understand the wrong and change like me. Don't get me wrong i'm not perfect and its only been a few days in but this ban made me nicer on my smurf(which i was banned to being toxic mostly due to retaliation which means i was flamed and well flamed back). Hopefully i keep up my good behavior. I for sure know ranked restrictions probable help no one but make them madder (wouldn't know never had one) and i have had a few chat restrictions and they didn't do crap for me. They just made me nicer during THOSE games but as soon as they finished if someone flamed me man i went right back 2 it. Heres to hopefully a better banning system, and to my own self improvement.

How come nobody talks about what causes a lot of the toxicity and we try and get Riot to find a solution instead of always whining and bitching about it? There is a reason people say some of the things they say so maybe we need to figure out what is causing people to say some of these things and start there?

Those people that say to ignore those saying these things are in part, toxic themselves. Not everyone is like you in regards to the apathetic way you deal with people and when you tell them to ignore it, all it does is create more toxicity. You don't see it that way but you are not the person you are saying it to. They do not agree with you because in their mind you are wrong.

What is the main cause of toxicity in League? That is what needs to be corrected.

IMO it's people who treat the game like their own personal playground with little to no respect for the rest of the player base. It starts with those who suck at the game with no intentions to improve all the way to those who will tell someone they need to go die, which is usually the result of someone who sucks at the game with no intentions to improve. It's a vicious circle that needs discipline in both areas but only one area is getting any real discipline.
