Remake punished me as I actively tried to reconnect.
I think remake was a good idea, but I find the execution was pretty poor. I feel it punishes the wrong players.
Had trouble loading into a game today and as I'm trying to connect I see that the game ended because of /remake. I would be okay with the game ending early, except I was hit with leaverbuster and I am no longer elligible for for loot rewards (idk how long that lasts). This was after a single incident (unless this is counting other leaves, which i can only think of one a while ago(its not in my recent match history) where I had other connection issues). This was in a normal game I should probably add.
It's good that riot is trying to fix afk's, but I think this current system does more harm than good. I'll link Truetobi91's comment on the remake announcement because I think he explained one of the issues very well. http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/player-behavior/play-games-matter/remake
90% of my connection problems are login bugs that happen when loading the game. I see myself and 8 other players, everyone's connection loads to 100% and the last one does not appear. BUT He actually did load his game, he is in game but I just don't get to leave the loading screen. I can resolve this by closing the window via (ALT+F4) and start the aplication again (which can take 2 minutes) PLUS the delay I have between the game starting for everybody else and me deciding to restart the client. This is a BUG which can cause me to lose LP and get banned from Leaverbuster.
This system I believe is incredibly harsh compared to leaverbuster currently. In the current system you won't be punished for afk unless you're gone for ~5 minutes (I couldn't find a source for this so I'm just estimating, if I'm wrong please correct me). However, /remake can punish you for being gone for 90 seconds, less than a 2 minute window.
This system also pretty much exclusively punishes people with internet problems and not people that intentionally afk (which I'd consider a much worse offense). Currently you can punish someone with remake if they fail to connect, but if a teammate gives first blood 2 minutes in and ragequits, remake does nothing.
I usually have confidence in Riot and their intentions were good, but I find this to have just been really poor execution. This system I feel is trying to fix afks before they happen, which is completely unfair to the unfortunate players that are actively trying to reconnect.
