Ranked skill difference question

How much more skill realistically does a Gold 2 have over a Silver 4? It seems this morning that all the carries on my team (i'm a support) are an entire division below our opponents (teamwide average MMR ~100-150 less), and I'm wondering how much stock to put into those rank differences. I mean I'm losing every game this morning (it happens) so it seems like there IS something there but just curious... Also why there seems to be such a disparity in match making this morning.

Me too. My last game our team had 1 bronze 4 and the rest unranked, and theirs had a Plat, 3 silvers, and 1 unranked.

Honestly silver - Platinum is relatively similar. Main difference is map awareness, decision making, objective control, just general game knowledge really.
