Honestly, it was an exciting match and not just because of the off-meta picks.
A lot of kills, a lot of intense teamfights and the nexus almost dying twice for one side? Pretty cool.
I'll agree with you though, I tend not to watch ones with the 20 or so champions that are FoTM because its just not interesting to watch anymore. Yeah cool, Lee Sin ward hopped and kicked somebody into the entire team but Zed managed to assassinate their carry with his ultimate and flashy play. It gets old after a while.
I'll watch a Yorick match any day just for a chance to see a champion like that played at LCS levels because I've never seen it before, its interesting to watch.
If it wasn't the same 20 champions every match, maybe then they wouldn't be so bland and boring.
