PSA: Quoting

Hey everybody, I've noticed something that makes me Twitch a little every time I see it, and that's quote formatting. Now we all know that if you put a > in front of a line of text, it shows up as quoted text, like so:

This is quoted text.

But for the love of Nasus,* press Enter twice after doing it. Otherwise what you want to respond shows up as part of the quote. Like so:

This is quoted text. And this is my response. I only hit enter once so I look like a total dingus.

Press Enter twice. Like so:

This is quoted text.

Jolly-ho, good chap. I remembered to press Enter twice and my text is formatted quite stylishly.


*Is there a better expression I should be using there?
