Can anyone teach me how to make montages or highlight videos on Youtube please?

I recently wanted to make a video of my own but when I tried it was really confusing and I didn't know what to do. Can someone explain to me or teach me how I can make montages or highlight reels for outplays and stuff like that? Thanks, greatly appreciated
