3100 gold for an initial 250 mana 80 ability power and only 50% mana regen. It takes long to get seraphs 
and since you have to use continuous abilities to try to get the item to evolve and with the low mana regen its pretty crappy. Then when it finally evolves the shield it gives tends to be pretty weak.

1 800 MID LANE1 votesAgreed. It's a somewhat niche item that is only really worth it if you build at least one other mana item along with it. As it stands, you're pretty well stuck with that along with a RoA generally speaking for an offensive mage build, but the MYMU is, I'm assuming, bringing more mana and less mana regen to mages considering what they've said. Mid lane champions build for a mana pool, supports build for mana regen.
