What are you looking for in the Taric rework?

Taric the Gay·3/17/2016, 5:34:38 PM·8 votes·2,494 views

In his current state Taric is considered to be a tanky support and when compared to other tanky supports is rendered obsolete in how one dimensional he is. He lacks the universal tankiness of Tahm Kench, the lockdown of Leona, the peeling power of Alistar and the mobility of Braum. Besides his flamboyant style and subtly erotic personality, there really is nothing he brings that nobody else doesn't.

Personally I am looking for improvements in either his mobility or his crowd control. Thus far Riot's ability to upgrade champions visually is on par. But he needs... Something. Thematically if they give him a blind or a charm that would be great. Or even a small leap like Lucian or Graves with a minor displacement would be appreciated. I just want something for our favorite Gem knight to have that makes him unique.

Being Even More Fabulous.

So we know some stuff about the new Taric:

Has a similiar passive. Still heals, stuns, scales of armor and gives a form of aura. Has the strongest spell in league if used in the right situation. His damage is more single target whilst his ccing spells are more of an AOE. Is more of an battle healer so is probably best used to either hard engage or hard disengage, also his concept of constantly fighting remains. Immobile, think of him like a juggernaut or really immobile tank. Some of the stuff he brings to the table is really really powerful if you know how to use it.

So yeah thats all we know about his gameplay atm. Im looking forward him beeing a popular support again, especially because hypercarrys are really popular atm (Jhin, Kog, Vayne etc) and they really need a protective support that can peel but also hard engage. And about the unique part he probably will be, i mean look at all the other reworks that came out. Fiora, Poppy, Sion, Shen, Gangplank, Sion, ... they all are unique in a different cool way. Taric will probably more of a niche because he still scales of armor, so he performs a lot better if the enemy has no form of hard magic damage. But we'll see when he comes on PBE (probably next week like it seems).

I like playing Taric, but he needs to be a little more interesting to play. I can't wait to see what they have in store for him. I loved maining him last season (58% win rate over ~70 games) but he's not always as satisfying to play as other champs.

Gems. I wish for gems.

RR said he has situationaly the most powerful move in the game" and I'm very curious what that could possibly mean

I actually want him to be the jack-of-all-trades support that he is now. It's nice to have those archetypes, and I think that all of the things Taric has right now (except for his ultimate) make sense on who he is. Having more CC would be preferential to more mobility for me; I really appreciate that he's got a Juggernaut vibe to him.

That said, I want him to just be more fun. As it is now, he's fairly simple and not in the good way; he doesn't really.. make plays, and is a little too straightforward with how the game is panning out now. Having a kit with more interaction between players and some big high moments would definitely make me play him again.

I want to see him be less gay... just kidding, that's the opposite of what I want.

In all seriousness, I want Taric to have a silence that way he has some form of retaliation for the enemy support in lane. Having armor is great but the enemy support always ends up murdering him no matter what he does. Taric runs out of mana if he spams heal so waiting them out really isn't an option. And if he goes on the offensive he gets kited/peeled and loses a chunk of his health anyway. So it's a lose/lose situation.

I just want them to not fuck up his solo lane ability

I remember a rioter mentioning how they would like him as more of a Juggernaut Support and I liked that idea. Considering how you don't really see a support fighter (let alone a support juggernaut), it could be a nice niche for him. He would likely have to deal less damage than someone like Garen or Mordekaiser, but based on his current kit (since that's all i have to go on for now) his lack of damage would be balanced by sustain, team buffs and debuffs on the enemy, making him able to sustain his way through a 1v1.

I would like to see him be less item dependent. Iceborn Gauntlet is a great item on Taric but I don't like how such a pricey item is a requirement and not an option for him.

I really hope his ult stays relatively the same. It sounds lackluster but in actual practice, it brings a lot of power to fights.

PrinceBedazzled3/17/2016, 9:56:24 PM1 votes

I want his stun to stay the same. Its very solid and point and click cc is becoming so rare its nice to have somebody simple to play. However i want some sort of twist on his heal... maybe make you gain stacks of some sort of gem glow or something cheesy i really dont know. But it would be nice if the heal felt more interactive and had some high points and rewards to playing around it. His w aura is awesome but i think it should become his new passive, and give him a brand new spell in the w slot.

FrostiFlami3/17/2016, 9:58:58 PM1 votes

I'm excited for his new kit,

but what I'm looking for is for Taric to keep some sort of armor passive from his W. I would also like them to make something similar to his current ult.

Catastrop3/17/2016, 5:39:12 PM1 votes

That he gets an ability that Blinds the target/s. Honestly with moves like Dazzle and Radiance, you'd expect something of the sort to be there.
