Off-Meta Supports: Champions' kit is not an excuse to NOT buy Sightstone

Teemo : I don't need to buy Sightstone. I got muh shrooms lelel. Ashe : I don't need to buy Sightstone. I got muh Hawkshot. Nidalee : I don't need to buy Sightstone. I got muh traps. Maokai : I don't need to buy Sightstone. I got muh saplings.

I don't care what does a champion has which provides vision, you will STILL have to buy Sightstone. Otherwise, enjoy joining the fray with the punished Singed Support very soon...

SS for supports is like Smite for jungles. Theoretically you might play without it and maybe even win, but you are fucking your team over simply because the other guy having it while you don't automatically puts you at a large disadvantage.

Moral of story just do your damn job of support and ward for your team. Sighstone should be the first item you rush as a support IMHO

but thats not why that player is being punished though.

Really wish they would just rework vision entirely and have every role have vision options (without oversaturating it) and not needing only the support role to make sacrifices for it.

Sightstone, in all honesty, is an annoying item in its current state. It's boring, for the most part, and is only purchased by one or two roles because of necessity rather than any game decision or strategy taking place.

No. Sightstone is to avoid 3v2's. If you play say a Zyra. upgrading to grab more damage and mana sustain to poke out the enemy laners does the exact same thing. It makes the 3v2 much much harder to execute. Because thats all a ward does.

I don't rush sightstone, but it's one of my first items. I normally get the first upgrade of the support item first cause I tend to back with 500g, and getting a item 1028 isn't worth it when I could be getting more gold in lane.

The thing the bugs me more is watching a support not get a support item. Obviously vision is really important, but supports are already behind on gold to begin with so watching someone not take at least coin makes me so sad for that team.
