We're working a feature that allows players to restart a game if a player fails to connect. No penalties for players except for the leaver/AFKer.
No ETA on when it's done, we're working on it along with the new Champ Select project.

It's supposed to be coming during pre-season. Well, Team Builder Draft is, which - if that's received well - will move into Ranked soon after.

Eh. I don't necessarily agree, but I can see your point, there. I certainly think that if he is talking about a feature that's really far out, he take care to be extremely clear about that.
Zair Umbras1 votesLyte has been so focused on the community's toxicity and working on many projects over the last couple of years, like bringing out Team Builder for instance. He's got a lot on his plate and he's gotta make a restart that'll actually work. He's had to come up with something to help ranked out a little bit since we don't want some one to be able to 'take one for the team' sorta thing by leaving/quitting a losing game so that his teammates can get a loss prevented while all he gets is an extra couple minutes on his queue timer.
This idea probably had to take up a lot of thought and even it will need some work to avoid people from 'taking one for the team' because last pick didn't get what he wanted, so he went Clarity and Cleanse to get some one to dodge or DC at the loading screen.
