High Ping?

So I was wondering if anyone else was getting ping spikes while playing league for no reason... I have 45 ping on average when I am doing anything else on my computer including other games but the moment I get into a game of league my ping spikes over and over anywhere from up to 150-500 and it causes me to either be stuck in place DC or many other lag related things and I was wondering if this was happening to anyone else?
