Positive Reinforcement

I would like to see Riot implement a long-term reward system for positive behavior (similar to Santa Baron but long-term). Basically, Riot would announce at the start of Season 4 that all Honorable Players will receive an exclusive end-of-season skin (or icon, profile banner, free RP, etc...). The requirements of an Honorable Player are subject to debate, but I would propose:

  1. Plays a minimum number of match made games.
  2. Receives 0 tribunal warnings/bans.
  3. Receives no more than 2 tribunal pardons. (or 1 max)
  4. Receives no more than 1 leaverbuster ban. (or 0 max)

If players are willing to pay to be boosted to get a Victorious skin, they might actually improve their attitude to get an exclusive "honorable" skin. Even if it doesn't improve negative behavior, this system would still be a nice reward for those players who are consistently positive members of the community.

Good deeds performed with the expectation of reward are not good deeds.

Mmmmh, as someone qualifying for those requirements, I can't really say I'd be particularly distressed over getting free stuff.

Would be a hella nice sentiment and reward.

i get verandure's point. but the only issue i see for this. is that it rewards model citizens. but not people have improved behavior within a season.

and it would also allow toxic players to have leverage over non toxic ones by reporting them. it also punishes those who have a bad internet day. i don't think people should be punished just for having the misfortune of being on comcast.

i like the basic idea. but i think it would have to be a part of a revamped honor system, rather than something added to the existing system

This is a great idea! Allow though the League of Legends get a bad rap for a poor community, its because there's little reason for players to keep their anger under control.

A way of rewarding players with good behavior seems like an excellent idea to me, and would encourage other players to try to turn their act around.

Psychologically this is a sound idea, it's better to reinforce positive behavior than to punish bad behavior and tend to be more willing to pick up behaviors that earn them something than stop behaviors that lose them something. At the same time you would need to account for players who have changed their behavior, rewarding change is a major factor in making sure the change sticks. If you could find a way to work it I think it would be a wonderful idea.

This is a good idea though, and I believe Riot was thinking about something like this for the badges.

You know, i had a similar idea to this, but I've altered it a bit over the months to make it a bit more sustainable.

I think it would be cool if you were rewarded temporary skins for being an honorable player, that would be lost upon losing that honor.

This would give people the incentive to always be honorable players, not just until they get the reward. Then, at the end of the season, riot may decide to give these honorable skins permanently to players that had the skin unlocked for over half of the season or over half of the games that they had played.

I also believe that ribbons should show on the community (and trust me, I'm not even close to be honorable...)

Rewarding good, equitable behavior is a great idea.
