Where do all these friend requests come from?
Recently i started just getting waves of random friend requests from people i haven't even played with.

Same here. Bots.
Bots and scammers. Most of them are advertising ELO boosting, and some even have hacked into displaying level 99 with 420 wins. I sent a support ticket to alert Riot about it some, turns out you may be banned for being friends with these people. Don't accept them!
