Honestly, what is wrong with people who just refuse to surrender?

No matter if the game is clearly unwinable. If we are down by 10 Towers, 2 Inhibitors, 20 kills and tons of farm by the 20 minute mark, JUST FREAKING SURRENDER!

What? Do you think this is some fucking Anime with you as the main character and if you just belive super hard in the power of friendship and compassion, you will save the day? NO you are not, this is real life, League is a Snowball game and as long as you dont have to superpower to make their whole team Disconnect, its lost!

Just surrender and save your team 5-10 minutes of time. Your time might be worthless, others is not!

Some people would rather keep playing, TRY to win, and use the rest of the game as experience in playing from behind. If you only play games where you are ahead and give up the minute you fall behind, you'll never really improve. On rare occasions, the enemy might monumentally screw up and you can win, but even if the game is truly unwinnable, there's still something to be gained from sticking around and trying.

Or, you might be dealing with people like me, who are farming IP for champions, and would rather have the extra 15 IP for playing 10 more minutes than to just give up, because they don't have time for another full game.

Literally had a game today down 10 towers, 2 inhibs, infernal+mountain drakes, + baron - and came back to win (in ranked).

Admittedly kills were 30-30 so it's a little different, but nonetheless games are all winnable. Just don't tilt and count on the throw. If your team scales hard there's always a chance. A small chance at a win is better than a certain surrender, each loss you turn in to a win is a pretty hefty swing in LP.

I see this in low elo, they don't understand when a game became unwinable.
