Free wins in series?

Well I'm just a bit curious does it now go into effect if you fail a promo going up an entire tier say from silver to gold or gold to plat. The latter is where I'm currently at and I lost my promos the other day was a day or two ago and I got back in them today and I didn't have a free win is it not a thing when going up tiers or is this some type of glitch either visual just not showing me the check or actually glitched and not registering my win?
