Disclaimer: Not everything will be canon, but pulled a lot of it to give a decent viewpoint of how Cecil became the Revered Inventor that we know and love.

I plan on fleshing this out and making a full story but this is just the "Origin" of how he got started.

Name: Cecil B. Heimerdinger Profession: Theoretical Physicist, Tinkerer Title: Heimerdinger the Revered Inventor Race: Yordle Region: Piltover Hometown: Bandle City, Yordle Land Favorite Pet: Fish

For as long as Cecil could remember, he liked experimenting with things. While that in itself was not unusual; most Yordles do, as it were, his experiments always seemed to work, even better than those around him.

One night, as a child yordle, his parents were awoken to a loud clammering coming from his room. They went to investigate the source and upon opening the door, noticed Cecil tinkering with his toys. While filled with pride that their son was taking to a challenge, they were worried of the late hours and odd shapes that he had constructed. Cecil was so absorbed, he didn't notice they had intruded until his father nudged him asking him what it was he was making. Shaking off the shock, he grinned and showed his father that he had taken apart most of his toys and re-assembled them into, what he called, a CBH1 Sweeper. When asked what it does, he explained, "The CBH1 Sweeper, named after me of course!, the first of it's kind! It moves around on these legs here, this here arm picks and pushes things up and puts them into the bin on it's back! I had to use some battery packs to power it." Mumbling to himself he continued, "I need more power! Or maybe bigger ones. Definitely need a bigger battery."

His parents put him back to bed and went to their room. "Do you think it would work," his mother asked. "Possibly," his father responded, "It did look like it would, even if it wasn't nice to look at." "I do hope that he doesn't find that bothersome," she replied and turned off the lights to sleep.

Cecil was emboldened by his creation. He had always absorbed everything given to him but after making the CBH1 Sweeper, a fire was lit inside him. He now knew that he could do things with what he learned. They may not always work but that challenged him to create more versions, better versions. Sometimes while tinkering with something, he would have an idea come to him of a different invention. He would get sidetracked of the new invention before realizing what he was doing and resume his progress on what he initially started, causing lengthy research times.

His CBH1 Sweeper device had some unintended consequences when it was put to use initially. Frizzing-out and releasing a minor electro-magnetic-pulse, to the dismay of his parents, he tucked that knowledge away and continued to work on several variants and varieties until he completed what he wanted with it. Within weeks, his contraption was known throughout Bandle City for how well it cleaned the house, due to some modest bragging on his parents part. People from all classes wanted one for their homes. After some negotiating for parts, Cecil started making them for everyone that asked, always ending up with more parts, randomly somehow, that further allowed him tinker with more things.

You have probably heard of the CBH1 Sweeper or a version of it by now. It's quite prevalent in use throughout Bandle City and all of Runeterra. The more famous versions of it are referred to as trinkets. Coupled with different style batteries that determine how long it is active before it has to be recharged, it reveals things that are trying their best to not be seen. The militaries quickly realized the benefit of this and approached Cecil to acquire some.

Cecil has always had a kind heart. He looked to improve life and learn everything. He was very disquieted with a military application of his works. Knowing that the military wanted something of his (and for what use he could only imagine!) did not sit well. He just wanted to know things and war has always hampered the ability to freely do as one wished. Nevertheless, after much debates and a promise that it wouldn't be ill-used, he gave them the schematics for the current working model, in exchange for some money for him to acquire new books and materials for his own researches, as well as, promises of future advances forwarded to him so he can tinker with them.

Now flush with new materials and books Cecil began to pave his own road. Already having learned everything there was from the tutelage of his parents and those close by he enrolled into an academy in Bandle City to learn from the most renowned professors of the time. During the day he would attend classes and seminars taking what was taught and absorbing it, tinkering in his mind with new and better ways of making it work. At night he tinkered with projects, attempting to employ what he learned during the day, as well as from past experience, trying to create things that made the world a better place.
