What the perfect champion select is like

I just had a game with the perfect example of what a champ select should be like. we all asked for specific roles, one of us said he was in promos to get to silver and none of us called him a bronze noob or trolled to make him lose. first pick respectfully banned our prefered champions and made sure not to ban swain for me in case i wanted to play him. our promos guy wanted top lane as that was by far his best lane according to him. first pick was going to go top lane quinn, but switched to adc. we strategized team comp a little, i asked who they wanted support and gave them a list of my remaining potentials, and picked the champ they preferred. our 4th pick wanted to go xin top but we asked him to go devourer jg xin instead and he accepted, letting our last pick take gnar top lane. we wound up absolutely dominating. all of our lanes, and jungle, won hands down, and i think that was largely because we decided to do what was best for us to win rather than what we most wanted to do.

Maybe good in your case but the majority of us have experienced cases where "plz plz let me top" first blood killing spree "Goddamnit you guys help me!"

People tend to trust their own talents rather than strangers, while it is unfortunate its true that we can never tell if another person is actually good or just another of those "I only play this lane and suck at it" people
