Could we have Champion Portraits available as Summoner Icons?

I, for one, would very much like to be able to show off what my favorite champion is () , but the League Client has absolutely no way to do that. Since I doubt I'm alone in this, I would like to find out what others think about this idea.

I propose that we have all Champion Portraits (the ones used in champion select) available in a form similar to Summoner Icons. They would be visible on the summoner profile, and also the loading screen. The question is, though, exactly how should this be implemented?

• Add Champion Portraits to the existing pool of Summoner Icons?

• This would probably involve creating an extra category of icons, and maybe a Search function as well.

• Add a second Icon, consisting only of Champion Portraits?

  • This would be displayed alongside current Summoner Icons, and would require rearranging things in the Client and loading screen, at the very least.

• Should these options also include skins? If so, there should definitely be a Search bar, because that would be impractical to navigate otherwise.

Whether these should be available to everyone from Level 1, or be unlocked based on whether you own that champion/skin, or be sold individually for IP or RP, is a question I will not cover in this post.

EDIT: I have discovered through multiple sources that Riot has been leery of adding this feature due to potential confusion that may ensue in the loading screen and end-game lobby. But there's little reason not to add this sort of feature to Summoner Profiles, or include it in the mouseover on Summoner names in the end-game lobby.
