An Open Letter to the Reds (not the Communists)
I'm sorry.
On behalf of all of the posters of rage threads, the over-reactionary, or those who simply don't acknowledge the scope of an operation this massive, I apologize. Personally, I would have hesitations about going into work each day if most of what I heard from my clients was negativity, demands, and anger about how I hadn't solved their problems immediately. I will note that there are and will always be legitimate issues and grievances (the outcry over the current HUD update, for example, or promised champion changes that were left undone), but I can only hope that we can take these in stride, provide constructive feedback, create a positive environment that encourages others to take our problems seriously, and understand that some things take time. Especially so when a company is continually trying to create new and exciting content to keep things fresh, on top of everything else.
I cannot imagine what it must be like to try to meet the many and extremely varied wishes of such a passionate and widespread fanbase, but please know that I am not alone in acknowledging honest effort where it is made, and genuine attempts to bring together a community over something fantastic. The vast majority of us players appreciate your continuous work and the wonderful game you have provided us with, even if we can be overshadowed on the boards by the ranters and the selfish. And let's be honest, on a forum such as this, people are much more likely to take to it for problems with a product rather than praises. Have you ever looked at the comment section on any major company's Facebook page? You would think their entire customer base hates them!
To my fellow players, once again this is not to diminish or overlook the genuine problems and concerns of the community, but more of an invocation to look at the big picture, count your blessings, and show some love to the people who make this game the one that you just can't quit. Y'all have all the time in the world to be angry at them, why not relax for a minute?
Yours truly,
Dear Leader of North Korea
(inb4 "Ha! Gaaaaaay!")
P.S. I know I'm at the mercy of the boards as far as votes go, but I hope we can get this post somewhere where the folks who could use some encouragement can see it. Positive relations help us all.
