Riot, you need to spend some serious effort/money cleaning up the community.

It's bad. Really bad. I know they like to say it is improving and that they are doing stuff, but it's not enough, and since I started playing years ago it's only gotten worse. People don't fear any repercussions on here. They do and say whatever they feel like, and laugh off the idea of getting reported. They have been trained by a community that basically has been allowed to be this way by Riot. If you start 2 week banning every single troll, I guarantee you this place would start to improve, but you won't even do that. Why?

What you have been doing for the last 3 years hasn't even been enough to counteract how much toxicity spreads itself naturally when it's unpunished. If you don't change something seriously impactful about how you police things, it's not going to start improving. It's gotten so common that you can't even really play ranked and expect to get a real game. If people lose nearly every game with a troll on the team, and win nearly every game without one, all the rank seems to indicate is teammate luck. Is that what you really want?

No they don't want that but what can they do. If they do a two week ban whats going to stop the troll from creating another account. What you are asking them to do is not on them but on us. We dictate if the game is entirely based on teammate luck or not.

The average player isn't going to be nice unless they have to. That's just how things are and expecting otherwise is not going to fix any of this. I've been around for 3 years of them trying to let the community fix itself, and it's only gotten worse. I think that's a big sign that they need to try something different.

Saying it isn't on Riot, it's on the community is exactly what they want. If they act like it's out of their control and up to us to fix it, they don't have to spend any money changing things. They are the people with the power, they can decide to start punishing people more often and more significantly if they want to. That part is not in our control in the least.

Up voted they need to make it so people have repercussions. The biggest thing should be to start handing IP bands out so that people can't just hop to a smurf an keep on being a jerk. if nothing else start having a ban hammer fall on people being verbally abusive. The tribunal as it stands clearly is NOT enough.

I believe any stat can be construed to play up the side you want it to ... I have seen some logs that Riot has said were good to neutral and I have disagreed with that conclusion. I am no prude and seldom get annoyed during the game over what someone might say to me.

I do get upset when someone says rude things to players that are trying and not having a good game, ranging from a rude comment that I am sure the person meant to help to comment being so over the top that Yes in some cases '1 and done'.

It depends on the comment some things should be punished and if they were and everyone knew and understood these comments would mean a ban then most smurf accounts would not dare to do such things...

Riot should draw a proverbial line in the sand and stick to it. The day Riot stands up and takes a strong stance on cyber bulling is the day the game get better makes more money and gain popularity in other circles. There is so much $ that is out there that they don't have to cater to spoiled children to make there mark....Having said This: I Believe strongly that Riot is trying very hard to hit a compromise and make this a better community.

And this is when people actually stop playing this game and move on to another one. Riot doesn't do it because they know that once they do, the majority would just stop playing, meaning bye bye skins money.

I didn't think it makes that big of a difference whether it was an article or a talk. When the point is to skew numbers and play politician to make your company seem like they're doing something they aren't, I don't think the format is the issue.

It doesn't really matter what the reason someone has for trolling or griefing, what matters is Riot constantly just lets it happen. If its being done by nice people or mean people, punish them all. Reasonable people will stop taking out their frustrations on random internet strangers, and assholes will do it again and get banned. Win-win.

Also, that is why I say play ranked and tell me it's 8%. It's far more than one every other game.

With the immense amount of money they rake in, it should not be this hard for them to implement new things.

It's nice to see that they're taking baby steps, but they do that so slowly that I have to wonder whether they will ever start doing any damage before the game just naturally dies out.

Well I think something like that would have a fair chance of working if they did a dedicated sweep and tried to get rid of all the problem players before resetting it back to the community. If the majority of players have no respect for one another then they aren't going to be able to police each other remotely properly.

I apologize that I wasn't more clear :) I believe Riot is trying to let players police themselves but what I should have stressed more is that I believe that a majority of players are unable to control themselves and Riot should implement harsher policies. Perhaps implement some kind of program that let the unpunished or under-punished have more opinions on what should be allowed.

In other words: Let the majority of the most sportsmanlike players have more a say in the future policies.

Let Us All realize that most people will not go out of their way to right a wrong and the people the complain the most about punishments are the one who have been punished...Yet the ones who Yell and complain the most get the attention and consideration ! This is sad and I wish I myself spoke out more and others like me .

I agree with all of this except that they are actually trying very hard. This is a billion dollar company, they can do more than slightly improve one facet of the system once every 4 or 5 months.

See here is the thing I think Riot is trying to hard to let the community police itself and that is why they are so slow to make changes and it would better befit them to take it into their own hands and set a new standard..By No means do I mean that they should just go out and make silly rules but some basic humanity would be a good start and if we as a community started to talk more often about such things I think they would take note and start to implement certain changes.

Yeah if you are being a dick about it you should get punished for saying it ! And it Has been a factor in other chat ban logs that have been put on here...

Just because you don't agree with what that person said doesn't make it okay for you to be a jerk about it. And the way you just put your last comment I'd not be surprised if you are /were/going to be Chat Banned yourself...check the attitude dude !

League needs to:

  • Give players the option to disable Chat (( **See **no evil, Hear no evil, **Speak **no evil ))
  • Put in a reward system for players who do not disconnect or leave
  • **Forfeit@15 w/ 3 votes required ** (( I cannot tell you how badly I want this ))
  • Give out more free stuff (( Having played on the SEA server, players there were practically sweethearts! Everyone loves free stuff ))
  • Be less American (( Our nation is filled with negativity. Weeaboos may slash their wrist, but at least they can live in a delusion of bliss ))

I've more-or-less given up on NA League as well as LoL as a whole. Other versions of League are just as popular, just as updated, and have a much better community. However, I'm thinking about simply abandoning League due to the recent updates being absolutely lacking. The talent that inspired DJ Sona, URF, Star Guardian Lux... that energy feels non existent now. Everything feels 'American!' with its boring color schemes, 'realistic' animations, and a lack of humor. I get that MOBA fans want their game to be SERIOUS PRO SKILL HIGH TIER, but is it completely impossible to brighten that militaristic dream? I'm not asking for giant eyed characters and lolis, I'm asking for a game that constantly shows that IT IS A GAME INSTEAD OF A COMPETITION.

Riot bans people and gives players the opportunity to report other players. This isn't on Riot, but the community itself.
