Champion Sorting / Filter

Similar to how we can create a custom item set, we should be able to create custom champion sets so when we are in the champion select screen we can select a custom set from a drop down box.

For example, I could have "Ranked Tanks" as a custom set and if I'm in a game where I need a tanky champ, I click my custom champion set and it shows me JUST THOSE CHAMPIONS ... so instead of having to sort through 100 champs, I can see whatever subset I have deemed good ranked tanks.

When you've only got 30 seconds to pick a champ, it would be nice to have a faster mechanism for quickly seeing all the appropriate choices.

I'm seeing many threads requesting this "Custom Champion Select" thing. Rioters cannot keep failing to notice these requests, but I've never seen an answer... +1, I hope they will do something about this soon.

(Just like in other threads, I suggest a use of the search box we already have, with custom search terms. They won't have to change Champion Select user-interface! This won't work really well with "sorting" though.)

It kind of works if you're looking for ADCs (type in Marksman, ignore Teemo and Urgot), otherwise you need your own custom regex. (Eg if you're playing support, and you want to choose from Janna Leona Morgana Nami Thresh, you'd have to type "janna|leona|morgana|nami|thresh" or "jan|leo|morg|nam|thr" or something)

I'd rather have custom tabs, so I could quickly decide that I want, say, an AP assassin, then select from the ones in my tab.

Kinda too late but if you still read it... I wrote,

Maybe I wrote that post in a misleading way or just misunderstood yours. Things like "Marksman" and "Fighter" are not custom search terms unless you (re-) set up them by your own.

Of course your "Custom Tabs" is much better in many ways (easily used while chatting, not requiring you to remember the search terms, etc). "Custom Search" has some good points, but not very much for many of us (possibly easier to implement, allowing some odd terms like "Yordle" without causing a clutter, not making those who hate this sort of change even notice, etc)... probably, tabs is the better solution, search is just easier to implement.

EDIT - You won't have to "add tags to each champion", instead you would list up champions for each search term you use (just like Custom Tabs mentioned).

Whoops!

Though I actually don't know whether it would be easier to have users be able to add their own tags to champions or implement Custom Tabs.

If I think things correctly, ... if you want to filter champions by only one thing or two (for most of us, positions), Custom Tabs is the easiest for us. If you want to play with the filter (Yordle, Dunkmaster, Demacian, etc), Search Box can help.

If you have many and many picks (let's say, 20+ per position), you would want "Check Boxes" like we already have in the in-game item shop. But I don't think it's too likely.

Oooh, I like this idea - somethings I want to play someone different, but since I have almost all champions, get a little overwhelmed and thus stick to champs I already have played a lot.

+1 I'd use this.

+1 for this, neat little idea that'll make champion select less overwhelming.
