Why are there still discussions about "Olaf needs buff"?
Like what else could you possibly need on him?? A 5 second stun on his E? His ult needing a bonus 1000 HP on cast?? Tbh, he is actually a monster when played right (or with a perfect non-r%%%%%ed team), and his latest buff of bonus movement speed on his ult can seriously scare loads of people off during a giant teamfight.
The big reason why Olaf isn't played a lot is always because none of the LCS teams picked him yet. You think I'm wrong? Look at Ryze, he is seen everywhere now in top lane played by obedient LCS dogs. What about the time before LCS played him? I played Ryze top, people think I'm trolling because I'm playing a "Failed Reworked" champion, or the champ that got "Veigar'ed".
#Olaf doesn't have any hard CC
Uhhh newsflash? Olaf isn't actually a true tank. And when I say true tank, I mean the types of J4 or Sej where they can demolish a giant group of enemies with multiple hard CC. Olaf is primarily a Fighter, which comes from the power combination of his Passive/W/low Hp. He is secondarily considered a Tank because Olaf can sustain away loads of damage with his Passive/W/low Hp combo power. With this info, in teamfights he is meant to be an annoying fat kid rupturing through the enemy group beating people with his double lollipop.
#Olaf has no gap-closer, and he's easy to get kited
Yes, that part needs a lot of work to mastering Olaf, by knowing when is a good time to initiate fights. In the current patch, his Q & the new Black Cleaver is his only best shot in getting close to his target, with his Q slowing enemies whilst the new BC's Rage passive making him stickier. You even have your ult as a "Free 1 sec Movement Speed ticket" to get even closer to your target. To me, this is more than enough.
Conclusion?
Olaf has received enough buffs. The next step in making Olaf famous again is up to the players/League Community themselves. Get yo'scared-ass out & start playing the Berserker.
