can we have more requirements to play ranked?
now look. i love this game. i mainly play ranked solo, and i actually have fun with it. i know there are ragers and i take it and move along. i know there are people who are not as skill and i accept it. i know there are people that make me look like a mouse to a lion, and that's fine. here's my problem.
there are people who go into ranked and don't take it seriously. there are people who don't respect pick order, there are people who say "i only play this one single role and have never played another role in my entire league career". there are people who only have bought only one role of champions.
this has come to light to me today because had a game today where the enemy adc (jinx) was complaining because the first pick (vayne) took adc and she "called it". i said she should have respected pick order but she was adament that she should be allowed adc because she called it. vayne was nice and the jinx adc while she went top. here's the score at the end http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1798047949/42076996?tab=overview now I'm fine with jinx being less skilled or vayne being more skilled (vayne actually got fb and was 5-0 at one point). now i will be upfront about the fact that they were on the enemy team and so of course i wont know what they ended up saying to each other. BUT. i do know that at the end jinx said "i give up" and started walking into us 1v5. this was clear feeding. if more people could just have respect for other players and the system as a whole wouldnt the game be much nicer? after the game jinx started whining about the points i said above. she called it, she only plays adc (she actually said she would never support because supports are "the adcs bitch"), she mas mostly adc champs, she says shes not serious about the game just wants to see what her rank is.
HERE IS MY SOLUTION. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL BALANCER/COMMUNITY MANAGER. I AM SURE MY IDEA IS WRONG IN SOME WAY BUT I DO NOT SEE IT. IF YOU SEE IT PLEASE EXPLAIN IT TO ME AND HOW IT COULD BE IMPROVED. (using caps is not worth noting as i wont change that bit)
please make sure people have all 6 team builder icons. the icons show that someone has at least played 5 games in a role. making sure that they can at least play the role at some level is something we need to be able to do before we play ranked.
please have a support and jungle tutorial. the only tutorials we have are for tank/mage/adc, so basically top/mid/adc (i know im generalizing but its quite accurate even so). while all these roles are different, jungle and support are different on a completely different level. i was a mid main and while i could jungle at a basic level im definitely not trick2g. we need some way of learning how the jungle works. same for support. lots of people who dont know how to support just play assassins or bruisers and just call it a kill lane. while this is a strategy its not always a good one and is just a way for them to play their champion. no sightstone, no aura items. we need a way to show what to do and how it works and WHY it works. explain why wards help. explain why giving your whole team 20mr is good even though 20 mr by itself isnt very much.
please explain pick order. this one is pretty explanatory. riot actually made a post about it a while back http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=3449932&page=1#post37793026 this is a good post but its on the old forums and wasn't sticky or anything. i had to type in google "riot on pick order" to find it. on someones first ranked game put this as a agreement thing. OTHER SOLUTION FOR PICK ORDER this one is suggested a lot but its still not implemented and i haven't seen a rioter comment on it so here it is. put a bar on champ select like the lane pick thing in team builder. first pick says what their role is and then second third so on. of course allow a fill spot so if first pick says fill second can choose whatever. the only thing i see wrong is if the entire team agrees on 2 mid or no jungle or some wierd comp then how do we do this.
raise the champ requirement a bit, 20 or so. i know its 16 because that's the bare minimum that you need (6 of your champs banned and your the very last pick and the other 9 pick your champs so you have 1 left). but. i want people to have a good roster of champs. if your only adc is sivir and the enemy picks sivir then what do you do. at first i thought make people have 3 or so champs of each role but that's hard to do because how do you define champs like annie? shes a support and mid? fiddle is mid/support/jungle? lee is a top/jungle?
honestly I'm doing a mix of ranting and suggesting. as i said earlier im sure im wrong somewhere but i would like to be told where. suggest your own ideas.
