Why are people so mean to their teammates?

Okay, so long story shot, I camped the hell out of a top lane Yasuo and got our Vi so fed that Yasuo was absolutely destroyed by the end of the laning phase, and he never recovered.

...Okay that was me bragging, but here's the important part. Because of me and Vi, along with pretty good team fights later on, Yasuo ended up with a score of 0/14/2 by the end of the game. Great job on me and Vi I guess, we essentially turned the game into a 5v4, but what annoyed me was that by the end of the game, his teammates were asking us to report Yasuo for feeding!

I CAMPED top lane because I knew between Vi's CC+Burst and Wukong's Burst damage, we were guaranteed to get a kill if Yasuo overextends in the early game, or even if he tried to hide under tower as Vi and my tankiness scaled on. Skarner (their enemy jungler) ganked top ONCE and took the kill. Yasuo received NO HELP from the rest of his team, yet they asked us to report Yasuo for feeding?! It bugs me to no end that players would leave their teammates to die, not giving them any help at all, yet blame them by the end of the game for 'feeding'.

So, any of you guys have stories like this? Maybe you jungle players out there who had a similar experience as I did? You camped a lane, that lane snowballed hard, and then the rest of the enemy team blamed that player for 'feeding'? Maybe you were on the receiving end, where you were the ones getting camped and because nobody helped you, you ended up feeding and your team threatened to report you. Maybe you even noticed someone was getting camped and defended them when their teammates blamed them. Dunno, I kinda want to get yesterday's events out of my head.

Personally I think people are mean because they were not raised to have morals or manners. I blame the parents.

People are mean because of anonymity. With no faces to lash out at, they can say what they want with no real recourse for their actions sans maybe a chat restriction if and only if they are reported for it. Most people who play this game can be divided into two catagories, people who play for fun and people who play to 'win'. They tend not to mix.

Some people never truly understand the whole "do unto others only what you would want done to yourself" thing. They can't place themselves into another's shoes. They are too focused on winning, and instead of finding out why the person lost they take the easy route and blame the other person for the entire team's failure. These types of people are unlikely to realize their part in the loss.

Being nice isn't as easy as being mean. Certainly, I believe being a good person isn't particularly difficult, and brings you more lasting satisfaction, but appealing to our most base emotions such as anger takes no effort at all. Thus, many people do what comes naturally and easily to them.

"Simply", it's an issue of effort, morals, maturity, and compassion. As much as we wish it, not everyone is a kind and caring person, and the anonymity of the internet just magnifies the problem.

Psychology is a crazy and dangerous thing, fellow summoners.

I think the reason it is so prevalent in league is because blaming someone else for the loss makes that person feel better about the loss. If a person already feels bad about themselves and then loses and feels worse, they just want to feel better and if its not their fault then they can not look at their play or their mistakes. They may not know they are doing it, <be conscious of it> but it may be a mechanism they've developed to protect their own psyche from feeling bad.

That gets annoying. I'm currently helping a friend learn and level up, and I hate seeing the enemy team bitch out the person I'm laning against. They aren't feeding! Teemo just punishes inexperienced players, and Sona/Soraka can keep someone up almost infinitely if played right.

Its no such much 'feeding' as 'inability to learn from a mistake'. You ganked once, ok. Twice, he should be on his guard. Three times and more, he shouldn't be moving an inch from his turret. If he continues to make the same mistake over and over again, then thats the worst problem of all.
