I have like 8 gemstones or whatever but how exactly do you get them?

You can craft the hextech gems into hextech annie(10), soulstealer vayne(10), a chest and key(1) or a hextech ward(5) The numbers to the right in parenthesis are the amount of gems it takes for each item. The gems are obtained randomly through hextech chest.

you get them through chests randomly :)
Edit: Save till 10... Then get soulstealer vayne cause vayne and vayne :D
