Congrats man. I am sure you will be a positive effect on the community, and a good role model for all to follow.

Though if I may add, looking at the arbiter thread, I hope that more people grow to appreciate the position rather than criticize it. It seems a lot of people see it as "unnecessary," but there is a value in having these sorts of less comprehensive/influential positions.

Volunteers at low capacity are seen all the time in the real world who provide the small-scale footwork that often times agencies are unable to do themselves (usually due to funding), or cannot justify creating an entire position for these specific responsibilities that just require more attention when the client base is so large. It's just a little bit of help that adds a personal touch, and we should all be thankful for the time and dedication that these volunteers provide. These are players just like the rest of us who have full-time lives outside of this volunteer work, and have worked hard to be a resource for all of us to have access to.

So again, congrats to Deep Terror Nami, and thank you to the arbiters as a whole. Maybe we can play some games sometime!

General description of what the Arbiters are;

We’ve set up this group up to allow players we’ve identified as deeply knowledgeable about our behavior systems to reach out to their fellow players, providing information and helping address questions and concerns you guys bring to our attention.

Arbiters are volunteers, not Rioters, so there are some things they can't do (no pulling chat logs or lifting bans, sorry!), but they are ready and willing to help you find resources and become more familiar with Riot's player behavior policies. If you’ve been warned or banned through one of our PB&J systems (LeaverBuster, report frequency warnings, etc.) or just have a question, the Arbiters are here to work with you!

Just put yourself out there for them to see :3 Even if you don't want to become an Arbiter (or similar regional program) you are free to help out and it'll be appreciated.

That's a great question! We're currently working behind the scenes to provide some volunteer opportunities so stay tuned. If you have any ideas as well, we're always open to feedback ;)

I would love to see a boards post if any volunteer opportunities come up, I've never gotten to do some things (like the tribunal) to feel like I'm doing my part to fuel the community I love.

We definitely feel ya! Currently, the only program that's actively looking to expand is the Arbiter Program, and you can get involved by becoming active in the Player Behavior & Moderation sub-boards.

We're still having discussions on the direction of the Wrenchmen Program, so we're putting things on hold indefinitely. And lastly, we're looking at opportunities to create new volunteer programs that provide real value to the community, but I'm not in a position to share anything just yet. We've very recently finished establishing a volunteer program on the Oceanic Boards (Emissaries, Wrenchmen, Instructors), so now a lot of focus can be shifted back to North America projects and programs. I've just brought in one particularly active individual to collaborate with to work on the logistics on this new program, so hopefully everything pans out and we have somethijg to announce by summer.

One more thing aside from the Riot Games Volunteer Program is that there are plenty of other opportunities to contribute to the community. Several tournament hosts are regularly looking for staff to work on graphics, recruitment, moderating, and mediating, and there are also plenty of opportunities to get involved in local events from viewing parties and LAN parties to large-scale conventions.

It's always great to see individuals who are passionate like yourself and Deep Terror Nami, and you can trust that I'll always be listening to your suggestions and concerns and advocating for what we, the community, feel is best for the community.

It's great that another Nami main has managed to accomplish something. I should only hope that their arbiting skills are not as bad as my Nami skills.
