Why are comments even optional when reporting someone?

It seems to me that if you can't be bothered to actually put why you're reporting someone, then that person(s) wasn't really doing anything to merit you reporting him/her/them.

Thoughts?

They keep the chat logs, if the person was blatantly violating the rules it wouldn't be necessary to comment. However, if someone was intentionally feeding and saying stuff in chat like "dang it, didn't ult fast enough!" it would look like they weren't. That's when comments are useful.

Well, I'm sure leaving them game is pretty self explanatory.

The harassment options might also be pretty self explanatory.

Unless you personally would need to have someone explain why 'I slept with your mom' may be offensive to some. Or why berating someone for 20-60 minutes may be negative.
