Would you rather have a toxic player who is decent or a nice guy who doesn't know the enemy team's champions abilities?

The nice guy always because he can at least be taught and learn, the toxic guy is going to throw 9 times out of ten either by trolling or by being such a disruptive influence your team falls apart.

many toxic players are perfectly nice when things are going well. they only turn toxic if they are losing or frustrated.

it is a trick question because the nice guy and the toxic one are the same person.

i rather have the nice guy, he/she can learn from the advice you give them on how to build, champion match ups, etc. The toxic douche would just throw if the enemy has more than 5 kills spamming GG and running into their towers

This is interesting to see, cuz I'd take the toxic guy any day and twice on Sunday.

Here's my reasons, and please tell me WHY you disagree.

Teaching takes more than one game, I'd rather not invest so much effort in teaching someone who i'm never gonna play with again.
I can mute a toxic guy, I can't with one fell button click stop a bad player from being bad.
I think that being competent in a competitive setting is more valued than being nice.

Now, I know you guys disagree with 1 or all of these, but why is that?

In ranked i 100% agree. Normals id take the nice guy and have him be on my ts. We'd have a lot of fun ;P

I get that thinking... except... it's a random person in ranked. They're not your friend. I personally would rather win and walk away forgetting who these people were than lose and walk away forgetting who these people were.

You seemed to miss my point. Everyone is my friend until they start acting like an asshole, at which point they become my enemy.

For some reason, all my games that I enjoy is with toxic players. When your whole team is toxic, it's extremely funny and it turns out none of us are ACTUALLY toxic.

Like when everyone's cursing each other out like 'report this noob' everytime someone dies or like 'fucking sivir u suck ass' and 'wow wat a fking scrub' and 'smd'

It's actually fun seeing it. Although this is probably because everyone's joking around and not actually meaning it, many people would consider it toxic and report them if they're sensitive bitches. (theres always that one guy)

I've found that people rage less (myself included) when people just admit their mistakes (myself included). Then it is a much more civil and productive game.

Huh... that's an interesting way to see it. I'm the opposite. It feels like work to have to teach people while I'm playing. I'd rather have someone I can just mute than someone who I have to teach as the game goes.

Especially since statistically I'll never play with that person again so it's a wasted investment of effort.

i get alot of people who i play with 2 or more games. muteing works for some people cause there never was any meaningful communication and there isnt likely to be unlike most people when i see a mid push or loseing team fights isnt going anywhere i actually try to push even if i have to die i will get something but i usually cant get anything cause when i go off to split push my teammates go into full retreat leaving no pressure in another lane so i get jumped by 3-5 men cause they cant allow their k/d to go up unless they chasing a penta when they have quadra and they have no chance of securing the penta but they will die trying and still not push and back to base and try to push just in time for the enemy team to fully revive. and they harass you cause you try to make a play and not stay mid to either wait for some one to make a mistake or get poked down. i hate 5-10 minutes sitting mid doing nothing then one of your guys breaks the enemy engages on you then they say oom

alot of false toxic reports though i believe the ones against me are false at least im toxic real toxic once every 5 or so months. but most of the time im telling people - you shouldnt do that, that wount work, we should do this. these are legitimate sujestions and critizism not to harass people i want response and feed back when you do some thing wrong im gonna say not for the sake or harassing but if no body tells you when you are doing bad or wrong you arnt always gonna catch it it will help you get better

I never play with randoms more than once so I guess I always just assume it's a 1 time thing. :) I have IRL friends i play with and solo games and I don't really enter games to make friends, I just want to win and never see them again. lol

I think I had a perfect game last season with some guy that was nice but didn't know what he was doing. He was last pick and on a role or champion he didn't know to well. If I recall right, he was our ADC, and he got eaten alive by their team. But no one held it against him since he was filling and letting us hard carry. We won handily, and I recall complimenting him several times for being a team player.

Compare this to a toxic player who would have either doubled up in a role already called, fed a little then AFKed, mashed the surrender button every chance they got, or a combination of the three.

Hands down, nice guy takes the prize. Winning the match doesn't matter as much as enjoying it.

And I think that's a big problem with most players and ranked. They can't let themselves relax and enjoy that mode, because all they can think about is winning.

Yes, do your best to win in ranked, but enjoying the game is the reason you play. If you can only enjoy it if you're winning, you're only going to be enjoying it about half the time. If you change your attitude, you can enjoy the game much more.

Yes, do your best to win in ranked, but enjoying the game is the reason you play. If you can only enjoy it if you're winning, you're only going to be enjoying it about half the time. If you change your attitude, you can enjoy the game much more.

I can understand that. But I enjoy the competition of it. The fun of it is the fact that it "matters" that's why I hate normal games cuz there's nothing "on the line".
