Something's wrong with the community.

Recently, I find myself more and more seeing players saying racist or homophobic things to other players. That can't go on like this. I can tell you from a first person's point of view, that people who get harassed for being gay or belonging to some ethnic group or religion, they feel down, they get depressed, and it can quickly get to killing themselves. NO ONE SHOULD SUFFER FROM THIS. People have to realise there's nothing wrong about being gay, black, muslim or anything, and moreover- it doesn't have anything to do with the way people play.

Sure, racism and homophobia are pretty shitty.

But the main factor here is that you can WALK AWAY FROM IT.

While in real life that is much harder to do, all harassment can be stopped with the click of a button & a report.

This isn't to say that it isn't a problem. It is, but it's a problem that can be dealt with. It is impossible to erase hatred as it is something that comes with being human. Because it can't be erased, it must be dealt with to the best of our abilities.

Riot does their best to deal with it. Those on the receiving end, specifically in an online medium must make the simplest effort to do the same.

Ignore the player & report them. I've found that along side reporting a player, opening a ticket to report a player will also see much swifter action taken.

In short,

Move on. People like that will always exist, so there is honestly no point in getting so flustered over it when it happens in a situation where it can be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
