So when you're in champion select and you search for champions, you should be able to put in abbreviations. Things like "MF" or "J4" and "K6"
Additionally, I think you have to type champion names front to back, (You can't say "Yi" you have to say "Master Yi") but I don't remember.
Anyway, I think this is an easy thing to put in, and it'd be handy.

Second, there's really no reason not to do it. Riot likes adding quality of life improvements and this is just another one. It couldn't possibly be so difficult to add a few abbreviations like "MF" or "J4". Things that people commonly use in the game.

You're missing the point completely. This isn't for characters with shorter unofficial names like "Rene" or "Morg". This is for those who have much easier ways to say their name, that are convenient and easy to add. (Again, things like "MF", "J4", "TK" "K6" "GP", "TF", or even "VN") I don't know why you are looking at it like it's meant for things like "Cait" "Renek" or "Lee".

Second, maybe you don't use these abbreviations. MF, J4, GP, and TF are commonly used. There's also nothing wrong with convenience and quality of life improvements. You're saying the only reason to not add this is "It doesn't matter", but it's still convenient to use, and I'd certainly use it when I can.

I don't know where you got those stats from. Less than 1% of players say "MF" in game and on Boards?

Okay, so I'm gonna throw this out there.
I'm referring to the champion select, NOT the boards icons.
Second, you should look at actual statistics instead of assuming that just because someone is able to post the MF icon, that they didn't try to type MF on their first try. Additionally, I'm willing to doubt that your statistics don't cover even 2 subboards.
In other words, your statistics aren't statistics, but rather just assumptions.
