Every day it's bronze this, bronze that, you're bronze why are you having the opinion over there I played my promotionals this season and stopped after them, because ranked has a terrible atmosphere I got like over 750 wins in unranked games, and I just don't play ranked at all really

And now I'm going to go into ranked and see how far I can get because I'm tired of people looking me up and deciding I don't know anything I mean what makes them think EVERYBODy plays ranked?? IT'S SO RUDE

I know my agreeing with you means nothing because I'm bronze as well, but you're completely right... You know, until a plat player comes in and says we're wrong in the most disrespectful way possible. -_-

I'm plat and you guys are getting trash-talked by egotistical people who think elo> everything, where as that is NOT the case. All opinions are accepted, don't matter if you are bronze or Challenjour.

Renascent9/24/2015, 4:07:16 PM4 votes

The people who say that people in low elo don't know anything are the same people who expect those in high elo to know everything.

"How did you even get into plat?" - Whenever I make a mistake

"Why are you so bad at (Insert champion here)" - I just wanted to have some fun trying champs I don't play

Just saying, there's people with pretty bad attitudes out there, and you don't have to listen to what they say; It's just text, and something that takes so little effort to type out has no reason to yield so much "reward".

With so much ELO boosting going on when someone brings rank into an argument I just tell them to F**K off because more than likely they were ELO boosted. Like I can't prove they were, they can't prove they weren't.

I prefer ranked over normals. Anyone with me or just me? ;c

I have never played a ranked game, which makes it all the more amusing when a team starts flaming someone for losing lane to an unranked scrub; break one and the team follows.

If someone must flaunt rank to legitimize their argument, maybe their argument wasn't good to begin with.

Its simple don't be bronze. Its not hard to NOT be bronze. TBH if you are in bronze you aren't ready for ranked so stick to normals.

Usually ranks are only brought into arguments when they don't agree with your opinion but can't prove it wrong.

I get that quite a bit as well, just because I'm bronze in ranked, a game mode I haven't touched in months, doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. My MMR in normals is in the 1200s, I'm not actually a bronze player by those standards, and even in ranked I rarely play against bronze players, it's mid-high silver with the occasional gold player here and there.

Everyone is bronze. Challenger? I think you mean the shiniest bronze.

It sucks but you just have to shrug it off. I know because I've avoided playing ranked since I got Bronze II last season.

I've started playing ranked again though. 3 or 4 months ago I finished my provisionals and got dumped in Bronze II, it felt embarassing but I noticed how my gameplay was getting better and better. I feel lucky in that most ranked matches there are hardly any DCers or AFKers or flamers so that lets me climb faster. Everyone just plays the game regardless if they're "bad" or not which is just the way ranked should be and I'm fine with that. Sure your team mate might suck ass but that's infinitely better than if they flamed all game or DCed or AFKed who cares! I'm now Silver IV slowly climbing. I'll see if I can get to Gold V for the season rewards.

I love when you play normals, and your normal ELO is a lot higher than your ranked ELO because your teammates tend not to be as bad, and gold people are like "OMG why are there bronzes in my team?" (Then you actually play better than them). Rank is a lot more luck than it is skill.

DarthSpectrum9/24/2015, 10:34:22 PM2 votes

I know what you mean. I got placed in Bronze I this season, and I easily climbed to Gold V this summer.

Honestly, the skill gap isn't that large. As long as both sides know how to play the game and understand their respective champions, there isn't that much of a difference between a high Silver and Bronze player. I would attribute more weight to the lane match up rather than player skill in determining which party wins lane.

In my circle of friends, I have quite a few gold, platinum, and diamond players. I noticed that the aspect that sets them apart is simply how much time they spend on League. Climbing in League takes time, a lot of time. It takes 7 games minimum to move up a division, that is at least 6 hours. Now imagine doing that 5 times, with some divisions taking as many as 13 or so games.

A Bronze 5 player who does not deserve to be there will need to invest at least 40 or so hours to get to Silver. Most people have school or work during the day. It would take an average person weeks, if not months, to find the time to climb 5 divisions.

My friends in platinum and diamond almost always have a lot more time to play League compared to me and my other friends in Gold. Since my high ELO friends play more often, they also get more chances to improve.

League is like a sport or an instrument, the more one plays it, naturally the better one gets at it. After making the trip to Gold V, I finally understand now that higher ELO players aren't necessary innately better, they just have more time for League.

However, most people just don't have the time to climb higher.

I think Riot's idea of lumping Bronze together with Unranked kind of backfired, to be honest. Instead of making people that were unranked feel a bit better about it, they essentially made it so that anyone below what used to be 1149 ELO (Silver) is the same Tier. Someone that's literally at zero MMR is considered to be part of the same group as someone who is almost silver, which to me might be a contributing factor.

Proof. Not to sound rude but just deal with it. We need SOMETHING to judge you on, so we judge your elo. How else are we suppose to know you know what you're talking about? If you're applying to be a teacher but don't have your teaching credential and say something like "i learned everything i need to know from friends, friend teachers, and the internet but I don't have the credential" There was a time where i played normals only for like a year because i was scared of the ranked atmosphere. I stayed at about a bronze/silver level from playing normals. I never would've gotten the strategies and concepts of the game if i didnt play ranked. That's because in ranked, people try and do everything they can to get information. In normals, that's where you play with your friends.

tl;dr rank is suppose to be a measure of skill. Normal players are casual Ranked players are tryhards
