We don't need more refund tokens

We need to be able to test champions in a mode designed to do so. If players can try out their champion they will have little excuse to refund it, and can save the tokens for RP purchases. This mode would be perfect for trying out skins as well.

Isn't this what the 10 free champs of the week are for? I've never bought a champ w/o testing first during free champ week, unless it's a marksman. I buy them even if i don't play them+^^+ Patience friends, champs get rotated out and you can test in bot matches all you want. Although i will say that free champ count should be increased so that 1/10th of all champs are available+^^+

As for skins, that's what skin spotlights is for. Not doing anything with skins anyway except to show off to some noob enemy that you'll only ever play with once. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Who the hell uses rp to buy champs?

GaleWinUnleashed7/26/2016, 2:57:02 PM4 votes

I thought that was what Hextech shards were for. They can be spent to rent a champ or skin for a week.

Edit: Perhaps I could expand on my point a bit. We already have a testing/renting system; it's just poorly priced and also spends the very shard you're interested in. Instead of more refund tokens, it would probably be better to fix the Hextech renting system; drop the amount of essence required to rent, and don't use up the shard.

like "Jungle Practice" in smite? i like that mode! i get to try new champs abilities before i get the money to buy it :D

You mean the sandbox mode. This is one of the things in dota that lol doesn't have. It's also something we've been asking for for a very long time like the new client that's in alpha right now. Want to practice landing a skillshot on a moving target through a creep wave, go demo mode. Want to stop a dash with an ability, demo mode. O want to see a new hero's abilities, demo mode (referring to dota). Also the client doesn't tell you the math or duration of your abilities.

Supreme Senpai697/25/2016, 10:54:10 PM2 votes

Considering you can't see the ability's damage and duration and stuff on the champion page in the client, and the video preview of their abilities are all very bad or inaccurate, being able to test out a champ would be very good

NightmareAmazoX7/26/2016, 7:07:15 AM2 votes

Hots lets you test their champs like a sandbox mode you can level up your champ to the maximum, Get your gold to infinite to try items etc. Hopefully riot implements this when the new client is out.

We need animated portraits too.

We don't need more refund tokens: we need to be able to test champions in a mode designed to do so.

THIS, I agree with. I've seen sooo many people cry, cry, cry over no refunds, and only when questioned further they admit to having spent all of their refunds on some 450 IP champions (usually the same one twice) soon after signup.

While I have championed for 1 refund per season, up to a maximum of 3, I can forfeit that if we get a mode where we can try out content beforehand.

However, such a mode will have to be made in such a way that it doesn't take away players from the regular queues on a permanent basis.

cant agree with this more having used this feature when i played heroes of the storm a bit. makes it so much easier to decide which characters i want to save up for first, well if i didnt already own them all so a bit too late for me xP

Rainbow Smarf7/26/2016, 2:30:19 PM1 votes

just like it work in heroes of the storm lol rito already copied the DQ from them may aswell just quit league and go for HoTS

Pika Fox7/26/2016, 2:55:36 PM1 votes

Agreed. I feel like they attempted to do this with hextech crafting, but failed miserably.

A system where every x games or so you got a token to redeem one champion/skin "trial" that allowed you to temp buy a champ or skin for a limited amount of time to test it out would be a great idea imo. You could even limit it to once per champ/skin to avoid the abuse case of someone just temp buying forever if youre really scared of the abuse case.

And yes, this would be a good addition for skins too; before anyone comments asking why, its because skin videos and teasers assume max or near max quality settings. Skins dont always look the same or as good on lower quality settings.

wrong, we DO need more refunds as riot keeps changing champs so drastically, if i buy a skin for OG shen and they change shen and i no longer like shen at all then why cant i have that RP back to buy a skin for a champ i DO like?

i have paid money for skins on champs i LOVED but i no longer play those champions as they arent the same champion anymore, so in the end i bought a skin for a champ that doesn't exist anymore and i'm supposed to be satisfied with a similar skin on a similar champ that i hate? no

either give more refund tokens ( per year or RW ) or flat out give spent RP back to the account and remove skins from reworked champs.

RIP frozen Shen and desperada Cassiopeia skins

i know i refuse to buy skins anymore and with hextech crafting i can get em for free anyways, i never asked for free skins, just my moneys worth but hey, if i can get free skins over getting my moneys worth then i will simply stop spending money and get free skins i dont undertsand the marketing angle here but i know as a customer i went from, hell yeah ill spend money on rito to awww hell nah i'm not giving them money anymore.

but im not really complaining as long as i get free skins, just seems that giving free skins brings less money then keeping smiles on the faces of those that DO spend money.

Yeah this is a great idea so people dont waste Riot's time on people who want pbe to have every character unlocked xd

ZT Xperimentor7/27/2016, 1:00:45 AM1 votes

The word sandbox returns to mind; but . . . http://www.pvpdatabase.com/?p=468

General Esdeath 7/26/2016, 1:51:07 AM1 votes

You mean sandbox mode? Good luck with that.

Arakadia7/26/2016, 4:18:43 AM1 votes

I still want refunds too lol.

redfeenix7/26/2016, 4:30:01 AM1 votes

Well you can test out all skins on the pbe eh? That essentially serves as a free try mode for skins

WaterDonkey7/26/2016, 7:24:41 AM1 votes

While i would love to see a sandbox mode. there is the argument of free week. while yes its a week one its something that they can justify trying before you buy imo. yeah i know its not always the one you want but yaa.

Ace Access 7/26/2016, 10:47:46 AM1 votes

that an I'd like the option to disenchant champs I've unlocked

Thuban7/26/2016, 12:14:23 PM1 votes

Doesn't matter anyway. Reflex clicking happens, even when moving slow working your hardest to pay attention and think. 8 times I accidentally bought something due to reflexes. The RP purchase needs a damn prompt.

Decrit7/26/2016, 1:03:25 PM1 votes

Hopefully with the new client. Riot is doing it so such things are possible after all.
