As a bot laner, I don't get why is being passive considered bad?
So I just wanted to farm up for more gold, why the heck are you itching for an engage? This I can't always get....

It's not bad in itself, but when you are paired with an aggressive support it is hard to succeed together. In theory, your support should adapt to ad c's playstyle, though as an aggressive support player I don't always follow that rule. I also just think passive is boring, but that is just personal preference.
