Who the fuckkkkk cares if people are harassing you? Riot, you're not our god damned parents, this isn't a kid's daycare, why can't you just leave us alone? PLEASE TELL ME what could POSSIBLY go wrong from someone saying "lol you're r%%%%%ed"? THE ONLY THING PEOPLE SHOULD GET BANNED FOR SAYING, is telling someone to kill themselves. and even then, not a ban, just chat restrictions. If you fucking care about the people who play this game SOOOO MUCH, force them to link their fucking facebook profiles and manually inspect them to see if they're good enough for your perfect imaginary society. You're right, this is a game. By playing this game you've agreed to follow Riot's rules, no matter how lame, unfair, or idiotic they are. If you don't like it don't agree to it.

You're an adult after all, you should understand how agreements work.

Don't give me "it's the internet". Judging from your attitude I've been on the internet longer than you've been alive. Yes it will always have it's negative sides and people. But honestly for the longest time it was far more friendly than any of the above I listed.

If you went to a friends house. Would you go around calling their other guests retards? If you said yes, they'll probably ask you to leave just like Riot is doing.

Chat bans are them telling you to shut up and stop being rude. Temp bans are them saying you're too drunk and need to go. Perma bans are them saying nobody wants you over anymore.

Not even a remotely applicable analogy. Your complaint is a lot more like you walking into someone's house and breaking everything, complaining that they won't let you keep doing it.

Riot's house, Riot's rules. If a player isn't capable of following those rules, Riot reserves the right to kick that player out of their house.

As a perfectly happy and mature adult, I'm very glad Riot is not OK with this sort of communication. When I get into a game of League of Legends I do so to have fun, and people berating and/or insulting each other isn't particularly fun for me.

The systems and restrictions Riot has in place are based in large part on the perceptions of the community, and it seems that for the most part they are working out really well.

As far as I'm aware, the vast majority of players have never received a punishment (or even a warning) for their behavior. It would seem that most of the playerbase is able to control their evil, and it's the basis around which Riot develops their policies.

Just because it is a game doesn't mean people should be allowed to do as they please. If you play a game that involves other players, you will be forced to adhere to a certain code to obey. And even then its just common sense, why be an asshole to people for no reason?

If you don't like it, get out of online games and play single player games.
